Trump Tower Vietnam: The Latest Addition to the Trump Organization’s Global Portfolio
According to a recent document from the Foreign Affairs Department, the Urban Development and Investment Corporation of Kinh Bac (KBC) and the Saigon Investment Group are set to facilitate the Trump Vietnam Project in Ho Chi Minh City and met with City Leaders in March 2025.
The delegation will survey the Thu Thiem area to scout the proposed location for the construction of the Trump Tower and hopes to arrange a working session with the City Leaders regarding this project.
The prospect of a Trump Tower in Thu Thiem has sparked interest. However, official information regarding the location and technical parameters of the Trump Tower project in Vietnam remains undisclosed.
Historically, Trump Tower boasts a collection of impressive buildings with 3 projects in the United States, and additional towers in prominent countries such as Canada, Turkey, India, and the Philippines. Should the investment come to fruition, the Trump Tower in Thu Thiem would be the second project of the Group in the Southeast Asian region.

Trump Tower in New York, home to the Trump Organization’s headquarters.
Among the existing towers, the Trump Tower in New York has garnered significant attention over the years, especially in 2016 when Donald Trump was first elected President of the United States. This tower is arguably the most famous, located at 721-725 5th Avenue, Manhattan. The building stands on the site of the former Bonwit Teller store, a renowned structure built in 1929. Trump acquired this property in 1979.
Constructed from 1979 to 1983, the tower was designed by architect Der Scutt with a budget of approximately $200 million. It comprises 58 floors, reaching a height of 202 meters, and is divided into residential, office, and retail spaces. It also serves as the headquarters of the Trump Organization.
Upon its inauguration, the Trump Tower received mixed reviews. Some critics deemed it as “flashy” and “gaudy,” while others praised it as one of New York’s most impressive structures.

Trump International Hotel and Tower, a renowned landmark.
Another prominent “Trump” establishment in the United States is the Trump International Hotel and Tower, a luxurious hotel situated in the commercial hub of Chicago, Illinois. Designed by architect Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, the structure boasts 98 stories and soars to a height of 423.2 meters, including its dome.
Initially, Trump announced in 2001 that this tower would be the tallest in the world. However, following the tragic events of 9/11 that year, he scaled back the project, and the design underwent several revisions.
Additionally, the United States is home to other Trump-named towers, including the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas, standing at 64 stories (190 meters), and the Trump Towers Sunny Isles Beach in Florida, a trio of 45-story residential towers constructed from 2008 to 2009.
Globally, Trump Tower has expanded its presence to Canada, India, the Philippines, Turkey, and Uruguay. During his first election in 2016, it was reported that the Trump Organization had secured deals to build Trump Towers in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to expanding their Indian portfolio to 10 towers.

Trump Tower Manila, the first Trump Tower in Southeast Asia.
Currently, the Philippines is the first Southeast Asian country to host a Trump Tower, namely Trump Tower Manila. This 57-story tower (250.7 meters) is located in Makati, Metro Manila, and boasts a unique design with a “layered” facade, offering panoramic city views and an array of upscale amenities.
Will Trump Tower Heat Up Surrounding Real Estate Prices?
Historically, the arrival of a significant real estate project like Trump Tower tends to positively impact property prices. Trump Tower, with its reputation for luxury and exclusivity, enhances the image of the area and attracts investment.
In India, following Trump’s election victory in 2016, there was a rush to purchase apartments, with buyers willing to pay premium prices. Local media reported that the Trump name was a significant draw for buyers. “We know it’s a quality product because of the Trump name,” said 60-year-old Poonam Dutt, who, along with her husband, purchased an apartment in Trump Tower Kolkata in 2018 for $530,000. The couple was even flown to New York by the developers to celebrate the transaction.
On the stock market, CII of Ho Chi Minh City Technical Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company surged to its upper limit following news of the Trump Tower investment in Thu Thiem (Vietnam). CII is known to hold significant land banks in the area (acquired through BT infrastructure projects), and the anticipated Trump Tower is expected to drive up land prices in Thu Thiem.
