The coastal road connecting Vung Tau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to Binh Thuan Province is nearing completion after almost two years of construction. The road gracefully winds through coastal towns and hugs the stunning blue coastline, as seen in this image. This vital infrastructure project is expected to boost the region’s marine economy and tourism in eastern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and the south-central coastal region.

Nearly two decades after its construction, the coastal road connecting Vung Tau City to Binh Thuan Province is undergoing an upgrade since June 2023. The project, initiated by the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, aims to expand the road to 6-8 lanes with a designed speed of 80 km/h.

According to VTC News, the Cu Lap 2 Bridge, a critical structure connecting Vung Tau City to Long Dien District, has completed its main construction works. This project is a key component in the coastal road upgrade, facilitating local infrastructure and economic development.

However, in reality, the approach road from Vung Tau City to the bridge is still under construction and not yet complete. As a result, vehicles cannot use the bridge at this time. The construction unit is focusing its resources and machinery on expediting the approach road works to the Cu Lap 2 Bridge.

Construction workers labor in the sun to upgrade the 77-kilometer coastal road connecting Vung Tau and Binh Thuan.

At the intersection with National Highway 51, the expansion to 8-10 lanes is complete. Construction units are focusing on installing traffic signs, completing sidewalks, and planting trees and grass.

After nearly two years of construction, the Cay Khe 2 Bridge is nearing completion. Accelerating the project at this stage will ensure the bridge’s early operation, completing the coastal transportation corridor and enhancing connectivity between Vung Tau City and surrounding areas.

In the Deo Nuoc Ngot area, a steep and winding section of the coastal road, the construction unit is expanding the road by building a viaduct. This solution effectively widens the road while ensuring traffic safety, reducing the risk of landslides, and preserving the area’s natural landscape.

To expedite progress and ensure quality at Deo Nuoc Ngot, the contractor simultaneously deployed two construction teams, focusing on pile drilling. This critical step creates a solid foundation for the viaduct, meeting high technical requirements and ensuring long-term durability in the complex mountainous terrain.

About 30 kilometers from Deo Nuoc Ngot, the coastal road section passing through the resort area in Binh Chau Commune, Xuyen Moc District, has been expanded to eight lanes. This expansion was made possible through socialization capital from tourism and resort businesses. Investing in road expansion not only improves transportation infrastructure but also facilitates economic development, attracts tourists, and enhances connectivity between coastal destinations in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

The Vung Tau-Binh Thuan coastal road project starts at the intersection with Road 991B (Phu My Town) and ends at National Highway 55 (Xuyen Moc District), connecting to the coastal road towards Binh Thuan Province. Once completed, the road will replace the existing coastal transportation corridor, forming a continuous link between key economic and tourism areas in eastern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
