On May 24, the Hanoi Transportation Management and Operation Center (Tramoc) stated that Hanoi Metropolitan Railway One-Member Co., Ltd. (Hanoi Metro) is responsible for repairing the Yen Nghia station roof on the Cat Linh – Ha Dong metro line, which has been damaged since September 2024.

The Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway line began commercial operations in November 2021.
Tramoc affirmed that Hanoi Metro is responsible for managing, protecting, and utilizing the infrastructure assets of the Cat Linh – Ha Dong metro line appropriately. Hanoi Metro is also the unit in charge of providing maintenance services for the line’s infrastructure in 2025, as decided by the Construction Department on April 11, 2025.
According to Hanoi Metro, the delay in repairing and restoring the infrastructure of the Cat Linh – Ha Dong line 2A is due to their slow response and lack of proactive coordination with relevant units and reporting to authorities for timely resolution.
Hanoi Metro also added that they have agreed with relevant agencies to urgently repair several items, including replacing the Yen Nghia station roof, the stairs up and down at the stations, and broken glass wall panels along the line.

After four years, many items on the elevated railway line have deteriorated.
For items requiring substantial financial resources and approval from authorities, Hanoi Metro is coordinating with the managing agency to implement them as soon as possible.
Previously, on May 23, heavy rain and strong winds caused flooding on several streets in Hanoi. Due to the damaged roof of Yen Nghia station, water leaked onto the second floor of the station, limiting passenger movement as they feared slipping and getting wet.

The roof of Yen Nghia station has been damaged since September 2024 but remains unrepaired.
Aside from the aforementioned station roof, many other components of the elevated railway line have deteriorated since its official commercial operation. These include station roofs, electronic boards displaying train arrival and departure times, automatic ticket vending machines, seats, and escalators, which have yet to be repaired or renovated.

Yen Nghia station was flooded after the rain on May 23, 2025.

The automatic ticket vending machines often malfunction.

Surveillance camera systems at several stations along the Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway line are damaged.

The free drinking water dispensers for passengers are also in a state of disrepair.

Many escalators at the stations are no longer operational.
