The Investigative Police Agency of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province has recently initiated legal proceedings and charged L.T.A.T. (born 1992, residing in Ward 2, Vung Tau City) with “Tax Evasion” and “Smuggling.” This development stems from a joint investigation conducted by the Vung Tau-Con Dao Inter-district Tax Team (Area XV Tax Office) and the Economic Police Department (PC03) of the provincial police.

Law enforcement officials read out the indictment against L.T.A.T.

Through their vigilant monitoring of business activities in the region, tax authorities uncovered indications of potential tax law violations by L.T.A.T., who was engaged in trading imported goods via online platforms such as Facebook and TikTok without proper business registration or tax compliance.

Preliminary investigations reveal that, from 2023 to May 2025, L.T.A.T. generated over VND 27 billion in revenue from her online sales but failed to declare or pay taxes. The amount of evaded taxes is estimated to exceed VND 400 million. Such actions not only result in losses to the state budget but also distort fair competition and pose risks to the digital economy.

The investigating authorities are currently expanding the scope of their investigation to trace the origin of the goods, ascertain revenues generated from other social media channels, and identify any accomplices involved in these illicit activities.
