In the current context, the trend of increasing connectivity and collaboration is considered a crucial orientation for the recovery and development of tourism and the effective implementation of Resolution 82/NQ-CP on key tasks and solutions to accelerate the recovery and sustainable development of the tourism industry.
Effective linkages between localities and businesses will enable the tourism industry to not only go far but also go fast and go together.
QUANG NINH
Recently, over 200 tourism service providers from the North and Central regions surveyed cruise, accommodation, and entertainment complex services in Quang Ninh. With the theme “Voyage Culture, Heritage & Renew”, businesses aim to build and innovate products associated with local heritage and culture to introduce to tourists.
During the program, many units reported a significant increase in the number of guests, along with enhanced recognition and market expansion through participation in the value chain. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, CEO of Vitamin Tours & Event, shared that both international and domestic tourists require comprehensive services. We select reputable service providers such as 5-star hotels, restaurants, and high-quality cruise ships to create diverse tours offering various experiences, from onshore to the bay, for tourists to choose from.

In addition to connecting with businesses from other regions and provinces, local tourism and service businesses in Quang Ninh also proactively seek collaboration solutions to attract customers. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of Business at Vietravel Quang Ninh branch, shared that participating in tourism linkages optimizes the advantages of service providers, with a mutual focus on innovation, quality enhancement, and increased competitiveness for Quang Ninh tourism.
“We have collaborated with several service providers to organize programs for large groups with newer experiences, not limited to gala dinners in the hall but also in unique spaces such as the beach and separate areas,” said Mr. Trung.
Along with proactive service chain connectivity, to stimulate tourism demand, Quang Ninh province actively innovates experiences by introducing new tours on Bai Tu Long Bay and connecting heritage sites such as Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu… At the same time, the province enhances destination promotion through films, cultural events, sports, and music… All efforts are directed towards realizing the goal of welcoming 20 million visitors by 2025 and creating sustainable tourism development linkages in the future.
HANOI
On May 28, a tourism survey program was conducted at locations such as Hanoi Station, Long Bien Station, Gia Lam Station, Gia Lam Locomotive Factory, and Co Loa Station to research and develop a new urban and suburban railway tour.
The surveyed locations are connected to cultural, historical, and creative industrial spaces in the capital and are expected to become the nucleus of a new railway tourism product.
Mr. Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, suggested that stations, train carriages, and travel routes can be restructured into storytelling, performing, and exhibition spaces… to create a characteristic tourism product of Hanoi. The Department of Tourism will actively accompany the railway sector and travel companies in connecting, designing, and communicating this product.

Representatives of Vietnam Railways also expressed their high consensus, sharing that they are studying the transformation of stations like Long Bien, Gia Lam, and Co Loa into cultural spaces, exhibition venues, and event organizers, while also planning to establish a railway museum at the Gia Lam Locomotive Factory. Notably, there will be 10 double-decker carriages appearing for the first time, offering a completely new way to explore Hanoi.
From a business perspective, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club, proposed bringing folk arts (xam and ca tru), cuisine (pho cuon, banh com, and lotus tea), and handicraft stalls (Van Phuc silk and folk paintings) on board… Thus, transforming the train carriage into a mobile cultural space. Additionally, the railway sector should support the integration of selling tour-train ticket-accommodation-sightseeing combos right on the train, along with adjusting train schedules and opening heritage sites according to the visitor’s itinerary.
Mr. Tuan Anh also suggested that the railway sector collaborate with businesses to organize closed and open tours, along with providing formal reception services, to create a seamless experience. Mr. Dang Duy Trung Hieu, Chairman of Vietnam Express Tour and Vice Chairman of Hanoi Tourism Association, agreed that Vietnam Railways could cooperate with service companies to diversify products and experiences on the train carriages.
HOI AN
Along with the core being the World Cultural Heritage site of the ancient town, Hoi An’s tourism space has been expanded in recent years to reasonably exploit ecological resources, creating opportunities for businesses and the community to engage in and benefit from tourism.

Typically, after the heritage tourism product of the ancient town, the marine tourism product of Tan Hiep commune – the core area of the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve – is also considered a characteristic product but not yet perfect and still has issues regarding scale, types, and exploitation space… Therefore, it is necessary to invest in completing tours, tourism routes, and services.
In the immediate future, the city will deploy the completion of infrastructure serving water and road transportation, environmental and business infrastructure at beaches. Dr. Chu Manh Trinh of the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area Management Board suggested that Cu Lao Cham combines three elements: people, forest, and sea. By closely linking these elements and placing people at the center, Cu Lao Cham’s tourism can exploit many unique tours and routes, especially at Bai Lang and Bai Huong.
In addition, in recent years, the city has linked businesses and the community to develop discovery and experience tourism of traditional trades and craft villages. The tourism space has been expanded to rural and craft villages, offering attractive programs favored by domestic and international tourists, such as pottery shaping, vegetable planting, field plowing, river experience, and forest exploration… These destinations have also contributed to extending visitors’ length of stay in the locality.

In reality, regional linkages and tourism service linkages have contributed to creating substantial livelihoods for the community, promoting investment in deep-lying tourism infrastructure, disseminating regional identities, ensuring that no locality is left behind on the national tourism map, enhancing joint promotion with the strengths of each business and destination, and fostering tourism human resources training in localities…
