At the meeting, Chairman Tae-Won Chey provided specific information on SK’s investment proposals. After listening, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung stated that he had discussed and reported on SK’s investment intentions to Vietnam’s senior leaders on multiple occasions.
The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed that the Vietnamese leadership highly welcomes the Group’s projects and affirmed that SK is a strategic and important partner of Vietnam.
Regarding the proposed development of energy-industrial clusters, the Ministry of Finance – as the standing agency of the Working Group – has consolidated the opinions of ministries, sectors, and localities and reported them to the Prime Minister. This includes recommending solutions to address certain obstacles related to the LNG projects in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highly valued SK’s proactive collaboration, especially in dispatching a team of experts to finalize specific proposals and closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities regarding the Group’s investment plans.
At the working session, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the Working Group to coordinate with SK to discuss, adjust, and implement the next steps. He also requested the Group to cooperate with the Vietnamese Working Group and work closely with relevant ministries and localities to review and adjust plans accordingly to align with the goals of both parties.
Regarding cooperation in the field of innovation, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung appreciated SK’s deep engagement and active support in training engineers in the semiconductor industry, as well as sharing innovative solutions in several industries.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested SK Group to continue promoting cooperation in human resource development and implementing initiatives to boost Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem. He assigned the Ministry of Finance to coordinate closely with relevant ministries, sectors, and localities to support the Group.
