Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, VinFast, announces its plans to host a conference titled ‘Enhancing Localization and Developing Supplier Systems for VinFast’ on June 9 in Hanoi, offering attractive opportunities and commitments.
This event serves as an invitation from VinFast to local businesses, inviting them to join as strategic partners in the journey of elevating domestic supply chains. The ultimate goal is to gradually establish Vietnam as a significant automotive and auxiliary industry hub in the region.
During the conference, VinFast is expected to share its roadmap to increase localization up to 80% by 2026, along with expansion plans for its supplier network. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for up to one million vehicles per year, catering to both domestic and export markets.
Specifically, VinFast will directly contract with Vietnamese businesses that possess adequate technical and technological capabilities to join their supply chain. For businesses lacking technical, technological, or financial resources, VinFast will proactively connect them with foreign partners to form collaborative alliances. This will facilitate technology transfers, provide technical support, and offer investment opportunities.
Notably, VinFast commits to guaranteeing the output of their suppliers, as per agreed plans, offering peace of mind and a foundation for long-term development to domestic suppliers.
Currently, VinFast collaborates with nearly 700 domestic enterprises to source components, materials, and equipment for production. However, to meet the ambitious expansion plans, VinFast aims to comprehensively develop a nationwide network of domestic suppliers.

Speaking about their strategy of partnering with Vietnamese businesses, Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Hai, Vice President of Vingroup and Deputy General Director of VinFast, shared: “We believe that the aspiration to develop a Vietnamese brand with international stature and global competitiveness is not only the wish of VinFast but also the desire of all Vietnamese enterprises. That is why we have built a collaborative strategy to share development opportunities with the domestic auxiliary business community and unite in striving for the national automotive industry.”
Previously, in December 2024, during the VinFast Automotive Localization Forum, the company first revealed information about the localization rate of their electric vehicles. Currently, the localization rate stands at over 60%, including critical components such as body shells, engines, roofs, and shock absorbers.
“We have established a clear roadmap to increase the localization rate from over 60% today to 84% by 2026 by locally manufacturing and supplying additional parts such as car seats, wiring harnesses, lights, rims, brake and steering systems, interior and exterior components, and mirrors,” shared a VinFast representative. “The localization rate will reach 84% in 2026 when VinFast produces electric car batteries, one of the highest-value components in electric vehicles.”
As the leading automotive brand in Vietnam, VinFast delivered 9,588 electric vehicles in April 2025, bringing its year-to-date sales to 44,691 units. VinFast continues to dominate the domestic market, maintaining its number one position in terms of sales.
