The Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway project has been making headway in Tay Ninh province, with authorities expediting compensation and land clearance to stay on track.

With a total length of 51 km, the expressway comprises a 24.7 km stretch in Ho Chi Minh City and a 26.3 km section in Tay Ninh province. The project boasts a substantial investment of over VND 19,600 billion.

The Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway is a pivotal infrastructure project, fostering trade and regional connectivity between Tay Ninh and the key economic zone in Southern Vietnam. Divided into four parts, the project sees Tay Ninh taking charge of the fourth section, with an investment of over VND 1,500 billion.

Spanning Tay Ninh, the expressway traverses Trang Bang town (11.3 km), Go Dau district (12.6 km), and Ben Cau district (over 2 km).

Local authorities have issued land retrieval notices to 2,048 households and organizations, impacting an area of over 248 hectares. In Trang Bang town alone, 1,004 households are affected, with 290 of them requiring relocation.

In Go Dau district, the expressway affects 925 households, and compensation is estimated to cost around VND 1,000 billion. Meanwhile, in Ben Cau district, the endpoint of the expressway, 119 households and organizations are impacted.

The People’s Committees of the respective localities have published draft compensation, support, and resettlement plans, including tentative land prices. Following the public display period, the authorities will approve the land prices and compensation packages before proceeding with payments. The government will seek feedback from the affected individuals to safeguard their legal rights and foster consensus during implementation.
