On June 3, the Hanoi Police reported a victim who was defrauded of nearly VND 8 billion in a cryptocurrency investment scam. In light of this incident, the Hanoi Police are urging residents to thoroughly research and only invest through legitimate channels recognized by law.

The victim, Ms. T (45 years old, residing in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi), had previously filed a report with the Hanoi Police’s Division of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention. According to her statement, Ms. T received a message via Messenger inviting her to invest in cryptocurrencies through the website xspacezone.com.

The perpetrators presented very attractive investment opportunities. Ms. T, lured by the promises, followed their instructions to create an account and transferred funds to reap high profits. Unfortunately, she invested nearly VND 8 billion and lost it all to these scammers.

To avoid falling victim to scams, the Hanoi Police advise residents to thoroughly research and only invest through legitimate channels recognized by law. Refrain from investing in cryptocurrencies through unverified websites, especially those that advertise high returns or attractive investment opportunities. Do not trust investment invitations from strangers on social media platforms like Telegram, Zalo, or Facebook to prevent financial loss and unfortunate incidents.

If you encounter any suspected fraud, immediately report it to the police so that they can take swift action to verify, stop, and handle the violators according to the law.
