VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (code: VJC) has announced changes to its board of management. Specifically, Mr. Philipp Rösler has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of VietJet.

Conversely, Mr. Donal Boylan, Mr. Luu Duc Khanh, Mr. Chu Viet Cuong, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung will step down from their roles as members of the Board of Directors. The reason for their departure is to take on the role of Founding Members and Advisors to the company.

These changes will come into effect from May 30, 2025.

Prior to this, the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of VietJet was held.

Mr. Philipp Rösler, born in 1973 in Soc Trang, served as Germany’s Deputy Chancellor from 2011 to 2014. He has held several senior positions in Vietnamese businesses, including Loc Troi Group (LTG) and Vietravel Airlines. He currently serves on the boards of numerous other companies.

In terms of business results, in the first quarter of 2025, the consolidated financial statements recorded a revenue of VND 17,952 billion and a pre-tax profit of VND 836 billion, an increase of 24% compared to the same period in 2024, thus completing 38% of the full-year 2025 plan (VND 2,200 billion).

In the first three months of 2025, Vietjet carried more than 6.87 million passengers on nearly 38,700 flights, an increase of over 9% and 12% respectively compared to the same period in 2024. The airline operated a total of 137 routes, including 40 domestic and 97 international routes.

In the first quarter, Vietjet added two new aircraft to its fleet, bringing the total to 106 aircraft with the youngest fleet age in the region. The airline achieved an average seat utilization rate of 87% and a technical reliability rate of 99.72%.

Most recently, Vietjet has placed a new order with Airbus for 20 wide-body A330-900 aircraft to support the airline’s development plans for the next decade. This long-term order will facilitate Vietjet’s ongoing international expansion, enabling the airline to increase frequencies on high-demand routes across the Asia-Pacific region and debut new long-haul routes to Europe in the future.
