The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province recently held a meeting with departments, sectors, and local authorities to review the progress of urban area projects in Cam Lam district and Cam Ranh city.

According to the report by the Department of Finance, for the Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project, the investor has completed the procedures and received approval for the detailed planning of the entire investment project. The joint venture investor has also completed the environmental impact assessment report.

At the same time, the project owner is finalizing the dossier for the approval of the feasibility report for several items, focusing on compensation and site clearance in priority areas to meet the construction schedule as planned.

Concluding the meeting, the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province instructed the local authorities to expedite compensation, support, and resettlement for the projects in their respective areas. For the Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project, by June 30, the priority area for site clearance must be finalized so that the investor can proceed with the construction permit application and prepare for the planned groundbreaking.

It is known that in April 2023, the Prime Minister approved the investment policy for the Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project.

In August 2023, the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a decision to approve the investment of the joint venture between Cam Ranh Investment Joint Stock Company, Vinhomes Joint Stock Company, and Vines Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company for the project.

The Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project has a total investment of more than VND 85,200 billion, equivalent to nearly USD 3.5 billion (excluding compensation, support, and resettlement costs). After completion, the project is expected to have a population of over 230,000 people.

The Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project covers an area of approximately 1,250 hectares, divided into 3 zones. The project site is located in the wards and communes of Cam Lap, Cam Thinh Dong, Ba Ngoi, Cam Linh, Cam Loi, Cam Thuan, Cam Phu, Cam Phuc Nam, Cam Phuc Bac, and Cam Nghia in Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province.

The project is expected to feature over 10,700 villas, more than 8,400 adjacent houses, and approximately 19,800 social housing units…

The project’s operation period is 50 years from the date of land allocation and lease to the investor. The implementation period is 5 years (from Q2/2023 to Q1/2027).

With its large scale, the Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area project is expected to contribute to the transformation of the urban landscape of Cam Ranh in particular and Khanh Hoa province in general. At the same time, it will help to promote the potential and strengths of Cam Ranh city, boosting socio-economic development in the southern gateway of the province.
