On June 4th, Tien Phong reporters documented the completion and inauguration of the project to upgrade the DT.744 road section through Thanh An to Dau Tieng town, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.
The DT.744 route, stretching over 60km from Thu Dau Mot city to Dau Tieng district, is a vital transportation artery.
The DT.744 road also passes by the An Tay Port project, a massive investment of over VND 5,600 billion, which is soon to be constructed.
Recognizing its importance, Binh Duong province embarked on a project to upgrade and expand DT.744, investing approximately VND 2,000 billion.
The project to upgrade and expand the DT 744 route from Thu Dau Mot city to Dau Tieng district in Binh Duong province commenced in 2016. During the construction process, the road was divided into multiple phases, consisting of five component projects.
Since 2022, the vital DT.744 route, connecting various localities within Binh Duong province and the Southeast region, has undergone further upgrades and expansions (from Km24+460 to Cau Cat intersection). These improvements aim to facilitate smoother transportation, enhance safety, and address drainage and flooding issues in the surrounding areas.
DT.744 is a critical route that links the center of Binh Duong province to its northwestern economic zone, playing an indispensable role in the socioeconomic development of Ben Cat city and Dau Tieng district.
The project to upgrade and expand the DT.744 road from Km12 to Km32 (in Dau Tieng district) marks the final phase of the overall project. This particular section in Dau Tieng district entailed an investment of over VND 680.9 billion, spanning nearly 20km. The road boasts a width of 25m, accommodating 12-ton vehicles, with a designed speed of 60 km/h. The road surface is constructed with hot mix asphalt concrete. The urban section is equipped with a drainage system, street lights, and greenery.
Alongside the DT.744 road upgrade, the construction of bridges and roads connecting Binh Duong and Tay Ninh provinces has been completed, facilitating transportation, cargo transportation, and tourism development in Binh Duong province, particularly in Dau Tieng district.
The route now boasts six lanes, sidewalks, greenery, and streetlights, offering a safer and more comfortable traveling experience.
The road currently features six lanes, including four vehicle lanes and two mixed-use lanes. It is fully equipped with lane markings, dividers, streetlights, and signage, ensuring a safe and orderly traffic flow.
The road traverses through kilometers of lush rubber plantations, a testament to the region’s natural beauty and agricultural significance.
