On June 10th, the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee announced that Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, after directly surveying the site, directed the relevant units and localities to coordinate and expedite the procedures for the deployment of the road project along the Be River.

The road along the Be River, with a total length of approximately 45km, passes through Phu Giao and Bac Tan Uyen districts in Binh Duong province. It includes a newly invested section of nearly 33km and existing road sections of about 13km. The road will have a red gravel surface, a total width of 10m, and a planned land clearance width of 22m.

This project aims to connect the region from Binh Phuoc to Binh Duong and then to Dong Nai province, improving transportation conditions and reducing travel distances for cargo transportation from farms to national and provincial roads. It will also serve the transportation needs of local people and businesses.

Apart from facilitating cargo transportation, the road’s construction will boost the development of tourism in Phu Giao and Bac Tan Uyen, showcasing the romantic landscapes along the Be River.

While the investment capital for the project has not been disclosed by the authorities, experts estimate that the construction of this significant transportation infrastructure will cost Binh Duong province thousands of billions of VND.

Regarding the Be River road project, Mr. Loi requested the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province to direct the departments to continue providing procedural support and capital adjustment for the localities to implement the project’s compensation and site clearance.

The People’s Committee of Phu Giao district (Binh Duong province) was assigned to proactively coordinate with the bordering district of Binh Phuoc province in the implementation of the project.

Considering the project as a gateway to a new era for the region, Mr. Loi suggested that Phu Giao and Bac Tan Uyen districts turn challenges into opportunities for development. He emphasized the need to focus on completing reports and proposing investment policies to the competent authorities. Additionally, he stressed the importance of propagating and mobilizing the affected households to unite in implementing the project for the common interest and local development.

The Be River flows through the provinces of Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai. With its narrow riverbed, high banks, and rapid currents, the Be River is the largest tributary of the Dong Nai River, spanning 350 km in length with a catchment area of 7,650 square kilometers. The lower section of the Be River passes through several districts of Binh Duong province before merging with the Dong Nai River. Currently, the Be River’s most significant economic values lie in hydropower, irrigation, and fisheries.
