On June 12th, the Hanoi City People’s Council Standing Committee announced that the 23rd meeting (a specialized session) of the Hanoi City People’s Council will be held on June 13th.

During this session, the Hanoi City People’s Council will consider and approve several matters within its jurisdiction, including: The 5-year Land Use Plan (2021-2025) for Hanoi City; personnel matters within its authority; and the approval of the Resolution on the Results of the Supervision by the Hanoi City People’s Council on the work of receiving citizens, handling petitions, and addressing complaints and denunciations, as well as the implementation of inspection and audit conclusions in Hanoi.

Complaints related to land clearance for the Tam Trinh Road Expansion Project are among the prolonged unresolved cases.

A report by the Supervisory Delegation of the Hanoi City People’s Council on the resolution of 103 prolonged petition cases, in accordance with Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU dated July 4, 20217, by the Hanoi Party Committee, reveals that many cases remain unresolved.

According to the report, as of February 28, 2025, agencies and units had resolved 69 cases (a 67% success rate), with 34 out of 103 cases still pending. Some of the unresolved cases include: petitions from citizens in Vinh Tuy Ward (Hai Ba Trung District) regarding the Minh Khai – Vinh Tuy – Yen Duyen Road construction project; land encroachment cases in the T2C Dai Yen project in Ngoc Ha Ward (Ba Dinh District); five cases in Me Linh District related to the allocation of service land to citizens whose land was acquired; and land retrieval for the Tam Trinh Road Expansion Project (Hoang Mai District), among others.

At present, departments, branches, and the People’s Committees of districts, counties, and towns are focusing on inspecting and reviewing these cases to develop a roadmap for their resolution, ensuring social order and safety in the city.
