On June 20th, leaders of the Dai Loc District People’s Committee in Quang Nam Province, informed that the district had just organized an auction for mineral exploitation mines.

According to the Dai Loc leader, yesterday (June 19th), Hoa Thuan Partnership Auction Company, on behalf of the Dai Loc District People’s Committee, organized a mineral exploitation right auction for 6 mines, including 3 sand and gravel mines.

The auction results of the 3 sand mine sites shocked many people as the winning bids were significantly higher than the starting prices.

Specifically, the DL2 mine for construction sand located in Giang Hoa village (Dai Thang commune, Dai Loc district) has an expected reserve of about 790,000 cubic meters. The starting price for this mine was over VND 7.59 billion. The auction was won by Hoang Chau Sa Co., Ltd. (located at 146 Road 605, Cam Van Nam village, Dien Hong commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province) with a bid of over VND 491.7 billion.

The DL11 mine for construction sand exploitation in Ha Nha – Vinh Phuoc village (Dai Dong commune, Dai Loc district) has an expected reserve of about 360,000 cubic meters. The starting price was over VND 3.46 billion. The auction was won by Cong Nghiep 6666 Mineral Group Joint Stock Company (Thuo Xuong ward, Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province) with a bid of nearly VND 320 billion.

The DL12B1 mine for construction sand and gravel located in Truong An village and Phu Huong village (Dai Quang commune, Dai Loc district) has a surveyed, evaluated, and approved reserve of over 166,000 cubic meters. The starting price was over VND 1.23 billion. The auction was won by Truong Loi Joint Stock Company (Ngoc Kinh Dong village, Dai Hong commune, Dai Loc district) with a bid of over VND 129.6 billion.

Thus, the winning bids for the above mines correspond to VND 622,429/cubic meter for mine DL2, VND 888,869/cubic meter for mine DL11, and VND 779,046/cubic meter for mine DL12B1. These prices are for mining rights only and do not include various taxes and fees such as resource taxes, environmental protection fees, environmental restoration funds, VAT, corporate income tax, exploration costs, license procedures, mine construction investments, machinery, equipment, labor, road construction, weighing stations, cameras, land rent, and yard rent, among others.

Currently, sand prices in the market fluctuate around VND 700,000 – VND 800,000 per cubic meter. With the auction results of these 3 sand and gravel mines, there are concerns that sand prices will continue to soar in the coming time.
