The investigation has uncovered a network of companies involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit Hiup milk. The list includes Z Holding JSC, Nature Made Trading and Production JSC, and Alama Business and Technology Co., Ltd.
The fake Hiup milk was heavily promoted through celebrity endorsements, exaggerating its benefits.
Notably, Z Holding JSC was only established in October 2020, primarily focusing on the wholesale of functional foods. According to the National Business Registration Portal, the company is no longer operating at its registered address in Gold Tower, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.
Z Holding’s initial chartered capital was VND 1.9 billion. The founding shareholders included Nguyen Van Minh (40%), La Khac Minh (30%), and Le Thi Thao (30%). Both La Khac Minh and Nguyen Van Minh, serving as deputy general directors, have been arrested.
Nature Made Trading and Production JSC was identified as the direct manufacturer of the counterfeit milk. Established in February 2023, the company is headquartered in Uy No, Dong Anh District, with an initial capital of VND 5 billion. The founding shareholders are Dao My Linh (55%), Le Van Duyen (25%), and Nguyen Thi Bich Hong (20%). Ms. Dao My Linh (born in 1997) has been the legal representative and general director since its establishment.
At Nature Made, Le Van Duyen, a former shareholder, along with Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, the company’s director, and Pham Duy Tan, the former director, have been charged with producing counterfeit food products.
Regarding Alama Vietnam, the company previously denied its involvement in the list of 600 counterfeit milk products. Mr. Tran Xuan Chien, Director of Alama, who has now been arrested, had stated that they would take legal action against accusations of Hiup being fake. Alama Vietnam is the official owner and distributor of Hiup 27 nutritional products, as stated on Hiup’s website.
