The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge connecting Ben Tre and Tien Giang provinces is nearing completion.

According to the My Thuan Project Management Authority, the investor, the approach road from Ben Tre to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge has been completed and the intersection with National Highway 60 is being finalized this June. As for the bridge itself, four out of six bridges (Xoai Hot, My Tho, Tam Son, and Ba Lai) have been completed, with the remaining two (Song Ma and the main Rach Mieu 2 Bridge) currently under construction. It is expected that the entire bridge and approach roads will be substantially completed by the end of June.

Regarding the main Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the primary structure has been finished, and supplementary items such as curbs, medians, expansion joints, lighting, and fire protection systems are being finalized. These supplementary items are expected to be completed by early August.

The My Thuan Project Management Authority aims to complete the project by early August 2025, in time for the National Day holiday on September 2nd. Currently, contractors are maintaining a rigorous construction schedule with three shifts, four teams, 30 construction fronts, nearly 600 workers, and technical officers.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a total investment of over VND 6,810 billion in public investment. The main Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge, approximately 1.9 km long, with four lanes. The total length of the project is about 17.6 km. The project starts at the Dong Tam intersection (National Highway 1 – Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province, and ends at National Highway 60, about 700m north of Ham Luong Bridge in Ben Tre city.

Upon completion, the project will help divert traffic flow and reduce congestion on the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, especially during weekends and holidays. It will also facilitate smoother transportation of goods and improve the mobility of Ben Tre residents.
