Long An’s 5-Month Budget Collection Surpasses VND 17.2 Trillion, Up by Over 34%

On June 24, the 26th session of the 10th term of the Long An Provincial People’s Council was held, a regular meeting in the middle of 2025. The Standing Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Council attended the meeting via an online conference.

At the session, the report on the socio-economic development situation in the first six months of 2025 by the Long An People’s Committee showed that the estimated growth rate of total regional gross product (GRDP) in the first quarter was 7.2%.

This is the highest economic growth rate in the first quarter from 2021 to the present in Long An province.

Total retail sales of goods and services consumption in the first six months are estimated to increase by 19.04% over the same period last year.

Import and export turnover in the first six months is estimated to increase by 13.19% over the same period. Of which, exports reached an estimated $4.21 billion, up 15.34% over the same period last year, and imports reached an estimated $2.63 billion, up 9.9%.

Notably, the total state budget revenue in the first five months reached VND 17,287.5 billion, equivalent to 71.9% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and 70.5% of the estimate of the Provincial People’s Council, an increase of 34.1% over the same period last year.

According to the agenda, the 26th session of the Long An Provincial People’s Council will consider and approve important contents, including evaluating the six-month report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, the People’s Council’s committees, the People’s Committee, the People’s Court, the Provincial Procuracy, the Provincial Bureau of Execution, and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.

The Long An Provincial People’s Council will also consider the six-month reports of the People’s Committee on socio-economic development, public investment, state budget, anti-corruption work, crime prevention, handling of denunciations, and voters’ recommendations.

This is a regular meeting in the middle of 2025 and also the last meeting of the 10th term of the Long An Provincial People’s Council before the conference to review the activities of the 10th term of the Long An Provincial People’s Council, expected to be held on the afternoon of June 27th.
