On June 26, the handover ceremony of the Vietnam Exhibition Center took place in Dong Hoi, Dong Anh, Hanoi. The main items of the ceremony were the Kim Quy Exhibition House and the Outdoor Exhibition Area, between Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center JSC – a member of Vingroup, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. This venue will host the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, expected to be held from August 28 to September 5, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements for the 80th National Day Anniversary, highly appreciated the efforts of Vingroup in the past time, seriously following the Prime Minister’s directions with the spirit of turning the impossible into possible. As a result, the construction has been carried out at a rapid pace and has now exceeded the set schedule.

“This is not only a technically valuable project with outstanding spatial organization but also a culturally significant project, worthy of the region and the world – a symbol of the spirit of innovation, development, and aspiration for the new era,” affirmed Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh.

This national exhibition infrastructure, with a large-scale area, is considered a “record” in terms of progress, as it was completed in less than ten months of rapid construction, resulting in superior performance in terms of schedule, quality, technique, and aesthetics.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Nguyen Van Hung, shared his emotions: “We are very touched that the Group’s leaders shared and were ready to invite international consultants with experience to build the overall design, coordinate and operate the exhibition, even during the exhibition. This unprecedented action could only be done quickly and effectively through the companionship of enterprises. Vingroup has silently contributed to the country.”

The two key items handed over include the Kim Quy Exhibition House and the Outdoor Exhibition Area. Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his gratitude for Vingroup’s relentless efforts “to create a project of such magnitude, ranking in the top 10 globally in terms of area and scale, architecture, and design.”

The Vietnam Exhibition Center covers an area of nearly 900,000 square meters and is planned as an integrated complex, including indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, a conference center, a wedding venue, and a large-scale cultural and artistic event space.

The most prominent feature is the Kim Quy Exhibition House, a cultural and architectural symbol associated with the legend of the Kim Quy turtle in the ancient Loa region. This is the largest circular exhibition building in the world, with a floor area of over 104,863 square meters and a height of 56 meters. The structure consists of nine halls, each with an area ranging from 9,400 to 10,400 square meters, allowing flexible operation: separate themes or interconnected to form the second-largest exhibition space in the world.

The Kim Quy Exhibition House boasts a modern technical structure, with its dome utilizing 24,000 tons of steel, twice the standard safety factor. The roof material is super-durable fiberglass, translucent, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly, meeting global green building standards.

The floor load capacity of the Kim Quy Exhibition House reaches 5 tons/m2, meeting the requirements of industrial exhibitions and ensuring the conditions for displaying large equipment and machinery.

The Outdoor Exhibition Area spans over 200,000 square meters, ranking in the top 3 worldwide in terms of scale. This area is designed for simultaneous organization of various events, from technology and machinery exhibitions to large-scale cultural and tourism festivals. Notably, the North Square can host significant music festivals, accommodating up to 50,000 spectators, making it ready for future international concerts.

Vingroup shared that the entire Vietnam Exhibition Center complex is being urgently completed as per the Steering Committee’s requirements and will be handed over in its entirety on July 15, 2025, ensuring a comprehensive infrastructure for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Upon completion, the Vietnam Exhibition Center will become a destination for global events, international conferences, art festivals, and cultural exchanges. A new era of modern exhibition industry will be initiated, similar to successful models in many countries worldwide, contributing to transforming soft power into economic strength and enhancing the position of Hanoi and Vietnam on the regional and international maps.
