Vietravel Airlines Welcomes Its First Owned Airbus A321 Aircraft

The acquisition of the aircraft marks a significant milestone in Vietravel Airlines’ restructuring and expansion plans since the T&T Group became its strategic shareholder. Owning the aircraft inaugurates a new phase of proactive, systematic, and sustainable development, with the goal of becoming a leading green, professional, modern, and sustainable airline in Southeast Asia.

Aircraft Ownership: Foundation for a New Phase of Growth

Vietravel Airlines’ new Airbus A321, with the registration number VN – A129, has a capacity of 228 seats and is expected to commence operations in early July 2025. This popular narrow-body aircraft is known for its high operational efficiency and fuel economy, making it suitable for both domestic trunk routes and short to medium-haul international flights.

In July, Vietravel Airlines will add two Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet, completing its plan to enhance its fleet with modern, flexible, and efficient aircraft. The airline will increase flight frequencies connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, and international destinations in the region, catering to the rebounding tourism and business travel demands.

According to Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of Vietravel Airlines, the acquisition of the Airbus A321 not only signifies a crucial step towards realizing the strategy of developing a modern aircraft fleet but also underscores the airline’s financial strength and operational capabilities. It also demonstrates Vietravel Airlines’ strong determination to pursue sustainable development and establish itself as a distinctive airline that earns the trust of customers and recognition in the market.

Speaking at the aircraft reception event, Mr. Ho Minh Tan, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Aviation Authority, affirmed that the induction of the first owned Airbus A321 into Vietravel Airlines’ fleet materializes T&T Group’s commitment to the airline’s growth. The addition of owned aircraft to the fleet, in alignment with the other aircraft in operation, will grant Vietravel Airlines greater autonomy in its operations and provide substantial momentum for the airline’s subsequent development strategies.

Vietravel Airlines is also actively negotiating with leading aircraft manufacturers and airlines worldwide to establish strategic and comprehensive partnerships in the aviation sector. Notably, to realize its growth objectives, Vietravel Airlines has approved a plan to increase its charter capital to VND 2,600 billion. This strategic decision aims to strengthen the airline’s financial capacity to accommodate the forthcoming expansion of its fleet and operations, while also investing in modern technical infrastructure, advanced technology systems, and, most importantly, high-quality human resources to ensure sustainable and efficient development. Additionally, the capital increase aims to maintain robust solvency, sustain healthy financial indicators, and continually enhance the airline’s reputation with strategic partners, suppliers, and domestic and international financial institutions.

Vietravel Airlines will be directly linked to the Quang Tri Airport, a large-scale transportation infrastructure project in which T&T Group is an investor.
