On August 13, 2025, India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) announced its final conclusion in the anti-dumping investigation concerning hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports from Vietnam. As per the ruling, hot-rolled steel produced by Hoa Phat Group will not be subject to anti-dumping duties in India.

"Vietnam has been a powerhouse in exporting these particular products over the past few years, and its dominance in this industry is remarkable."

The imported Chinese sturgeon costs only around 100,000 VND per kg, a bargain compared to the locally farmed fish in Lai Chau and Lao Cai. With the tax exemption on officially imported Chinese sturgeon in Vietnam, the local industry faces an uphill battle to compete on price.
