Latest Interest Rates at Agribank in February 2023: Highest Rate for 24-month Term

Interest rates for deposits at Agribank have further decreased in early February 2024 compared to January. Specifically, individual customers' deposits are subjected to interest rates ranging from 1.7% to 4.9% per annum, while business customers' deposits are subjected to interest rates ranging from 1.7% to 4.2% per annum.

Agribank’s Deposit Interest Rates for Individual Customers

According to the survey on deposit interest rates at Agribank for individual customers, the interest rates for deposits at different terms have decreased by 0.2 – 0.5 percentage points compared to the beginning of January 2023. Currently, the interest rates for deposits with end of term interest payment at Agribank range from 1.7 – 4.9% per annum for terms ranging from 1 to 24 months.

Specifically, for deposits with terms of 1 to 2 months, the interest rate is 1.7% per annum, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month.

For terms of 3, 4, and 5 months, the interest rate is 2% per annum, which is 0.5 percentage points lower than the same period in January 2024.

Deposits with terms from 6 to 11 months have an interest rate of 3% per annum. For terms from 12 to 18 months, the interest rate has been adjusted to a lower rate of 4.8% per annum.

At the beginning of February, the highest interest rate applied by Agribank for individual customers is 4.9% per annum, for a 24-month term.

For non-term deposits or demand deposits, the interest rate remains at a minimum of 0.2% per annum

Agribank’s Deposit Interest Rates for Corporate Customers

In February 2024, the interest rates for corporate customers at Agribank have also decreased compared to the beginning of January and range from 1.7 – 4.2% per annum for end of term interest payment.

Specifically, the interest rate for deposits with terms of 1 to 2 months has decreased from 2% per annum at the beginning of January to 1.7% per annum.

The interest rates for terms of 3 to 5 months are currently 2% per annum, a decrease of 0.3% per annum compared to the previous month.

Deposits with terms from 6 to 11 months have an interest rate of 3% per annum, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to the beginning of January.

At Agribank, the highest preferential deposit interest rate for corporate customers is 4.2% per annum, applied for terms of 12 to 24 months.

Non-term deposits will continue to receive an unchanged interest rate of 0.2% per annum.

Regarding lending interest rates, starting from January 1, 2024, Agribank has continued to adjust its interest rate policy for medium and long-term loans serving production and business activities and loans for personal needs with fixed interest rates starting from 7.0% per annum, with the applicable period extended from 12 months to 24 months. At the same time, a 0.5% per annum reduction in the interest rate floor has been implemented for medium and long-term loans in the real estate business sector.

Prior to that, in 2023, based on the reduction of input cost, Agribank implemented eight reductions in lending interest rates, resulting in a significant decrease of 1.3-4% per annum compared to the beginning of the year. In addition, Agribank has implemented many lending interest rate support programs, such as lending to the aquaculture and fisheries sector, interest support program according to Decree 31/2022/ND-CP, social housing lending program according to Resolution 33/NQ-CP, lending support for individuals receiving salaries from the state budget, lending support for healthcare staff, and lending support for rice businesses in the Mekong Delta region, among others.

Agribank has the largest transaction network and customer deposit amount in the system. The latest figures released by the bank show that the total capital mobilization of Agribank in 2023 reached over 1.88 quadrillion VND.

Agribank’s credit scale as of the end of 2023 is 1.55 quadrillion VND, second only to BIDV (1.79 quadrillion VND), higher than VietinBank (1.48 quadrillion VND) and Vietcombank (1.28 quadrillion VND).

Agribank’s total assets reached over 2 quadrillion VND by the end of 2023. The bank estimates a pre-tax profit of around 25,300 – 25,400 billion VND for the whole year, an increase of 14.5 – 15% compared to the previous year.
