On February 4, the Facebook page of Bac Ninh Football Club (Bac Ninh FC) announced that coach Park Hang-seo has agreed to become their senior advisor. The South Korean coach’s responsibilities may include setting future directions, supporting youth development, and running the club according to international standards.
According to research, the Bac Ninh FC Club was established based on the “Development Plan for Men’s Football in Bac Ninh Province” in Decision No. 740/QD-UBND dated December 13, 2018 by the Provincial People’s Committee. The implementation period for phase 1 is from 2024 to 2030. In which, Bac Ninh Football Joint Stock Company will be the managing unit of this team.
The company will cover all the differential expenses (according to transfer agreements, rentals), and provide regulations for wages, nutrition, and rewards for the coach and athletes (if any). They will also allocate funds for player transfers, hiring foreign coaches and experts, differential expenses for competitions, training domestically and internationally, and other expenses not covered by the state budget.
In addition, the company will also support facilities, ensure security and order, and provide necessary conditions to meet training and coaching requirements. They will also organize friendly matches and tournaments for the team both domestically and internationally, as well as annual football tournaments in the province.
According to information from the business registration portal, the legal representative of Bac Ninh Football Joint Stock Company is Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, born in 1977. The company’s headquarter is located in Phu Xa, Van Mon Commune, Yen Phong District, Bac Ninh Province, and was established in December 2023.
In addition to collaborating with coach Park Hang-seo, the managing unit of this football team also revealed an investment of 10 million USD per year (approximately 243 billion VND) to maintain operations. They also plan to renovate the stadium and build a new stadium and a youth football academy.
Furthermore, to realize their dream of playing in the V-League, Bac Ninh FC has been continuously recruiting famous Vietnamese football stars. Some of these names include Nguyen Quang Tinh, Dao Duy Khanh, Nguyen Minh Nhut, Dao Nhat Minh, Au Van Hoan, Le Sy Minh, Nguyen Ngoc Thang, and former U23 Vietnam national team member Nguyen Hong Son.
It should be noted that, currently, Bac Ninh FC is only competing in the National Second Division. This budget is equivalent to the investment in a top-tier club in Vietnam’s V-League. On average, the budget of each team in the V-League ranges from 80 billion to 100 billion VND per year.
Another example is in 2021, thanks to a 300 billion VND investment from Topenland and Hung Thinh Land over 3 years, Binh Dinh Football Club, despite being newly promoted, has transformed to become one of the forces in Vietnamese football. The club has also assembled a squad of stars in recent years such as Dang Van Lam, Tran Dinh Trong, Mac Hong Quan, and Nghiem Xuan Tu.
