The Porsche Taycan facelift has been officially introduced to global customers. Just as the German brand announced, this update surpasses its predecessor in every aspect, from performance to design and equipment.

The exterior has been subtly improved with new front fenders, upgraded LED headlights, and redesigned air intakes. The car still comes in 3 body styles: sedan for the standard Taycan, wagon for the Sport Turismo, and raised wagon for the Cross Turismo.

In terms of the drivetrain, the car still has 4 different configurations: single motor for the standard Taycan or 3 levels of dual motors for the 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S versions from low to high.

Among them, the Taycan Turbo S has received the most powerful upgrade, with the power increased from 750 to 938 horsepower. This upgrade helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, making it the most powerful production Porsche ever. This position was previously held by the 918 Spyder (887 horsepower).

The complete specifications for the other configurations have not been revealed. Porsche only mentioned that the drivetrain on all configurations has been improved. The new motor is more powerful, with an increase of 107 horsepower, while also being 9 kg lighter. The power for the standard configuration using a single motor has been revealed to be 483 horsepower.

In addition to the significant performance improvements, the Porsche Taycan facelift has also greatly improved its range. The upgraded battery allows the range of the lower-tier model to match the previous top-tier model, while the new top-tier model has exceptional range superiority. The range of the car has increased by 35% compared to before. The model with the highest range uses a single motor paired with a high-capacity battery and can travel 680 km on a full charge. The maximum charging speed of the car has also increased from 270 to 320 kW. All 4 Taycan models can charge from 1-80% battery capacity in just 20 minutes.

All configurations of the Porsche Taycan facelift now come with active air suspension. This upgrade ensures that the car’s body is always kept at a certain height even on rough terrains. Additionally, the car can lower itself by 22 mm at higher speeds to reduce air resistance and increase stability.

The upgrades in the cabin of the Porsche Taycan facelift focus on the infotainment system. The screen interface has been tidied up and several new features have been added. The company has also worked with Apple to improve the Apple CarPlay interface, allowing it to be displayed on all 3 screens on the dashboard.

The standard equipment in the car’s cabin has been supplemented with ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, intelligent parking assist, and a rearview camera on all versions.

The announced starting price for the 2024 Porsche Taycan is $101,395 – $8,850 higher than before.

The Porsche Taycan has sold nearly 150,000 units worldwide since its launch in 2020 – an impressive sales figure. The facelift version of the German electric car is expected to be widely available in many regions starting mid-2024.
