The Ministry of Finance – Ministry of Industry and Trade has just released information on the management of gasoline prices from 3 p.m. on February 8.
Accordingly, the management agency decided to reduce VND 790 per liter for E5 RON 92 gasoline, down to VND 22,120 per liter; reduce VND 900 per liter for RON 95 gasoline, down to VND 23,260 per liter. Thus, this is the first time gasoline prices have decreased since the beginning of 2024. Previously, this fuel item increased in price four times in a row.
Diesel prices decreased by VND 290 per liter, down to VND 20,700 per liter. Meanwhile, kerosene decreased by VND 340 per liter, down to VND 20,580 per liter; mazut decreased by VND 490 per kg, down to VND 15,590 per kg.
At this management period, the ministry criticizes the establishment of a stabilization fund for mazut at VND 300 per kg.
The management agency does not establish, nor allocate from the stabilization fund for all other fuels.
Previously, in the most recent management period (February 1), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline was adjusted to increase by VND 740 per liter to VND 22,910 per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline increased by VND 760 per liter to VND 24,160 per liter. Similarly, the price of diesel increased by VND 620 per liter, reaching VND 20,990 per liter.
