At 6:15 am on the 1st day of Tet (February 10th), the flight operated by Vietnam Airlines from Don Mueang (Thailand) landed at Da Nang International Airport. The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City organized a reception ceremony for the tourists.
The city organized a lion dance performance at the international arrival hall to welcome the first batch of visitors in the new year. The tourism sector presented the city’s specialties as gifts to the tourists.

Especially, the passengers on the first flight to Da Nang had the opportunity to participate in the “picking the first fortune of the new year” program right at the airport. The gifts were vouchers for attractions and entertainment venues in the area such as Asia Park and Nui Than Tai hot mineral spring park.
Three lucky passengers received round-trip air tickets from Don Mueang – Da Nang by Vietnam Airlines and tourism products of the city.

On the 1st day of Tet Giap Thin 2024, Da Nang airport welcomed a total of 125 domestic and international flights, estimated to carry more than 17,000 passengers. Among them, there were 53 international flights with approximately 7,500 passengers.
After the aforementioned flight, the tourism industry in Da Nang also organized the reception for domestic tourists arriving from Hanoi and flights from Taipei (Taiwan, China). The tourists were given souvenirs such as conical hats, ginger candies, and grilled coconut cakes.

In the morning of the same day, the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City also welcomed the first international cruise ship to dock at Tien Sa Port with over 1,800 Chinese tourists. The tourists on the ship experienced Da Nang City for 2 days with activities such as visiting famous sites like Ngu Hanh Son, Linh Ung Son Tra Pagoda, and Cham Sculpture Museum in Da Nang.
During the Tet Giap Thin 2024 holiday, the total number of visitors to Da Nang for tourism purposes is estimated to reach nearly 362,000, a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, international visitors are estimated to reach 172,000.
