Hai Phong Port has been actively mobilizing all forces and production means in these days for quick, safe, productive, secure and safe ship release. In addition, the construction of berths 3 and 4 project has been completed over 65% of the volume, exceeding the progress by 3 months.
In 2024, Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company will concentrate resources, maximize the advantages of the port-sea transport-logistics ecosystem of VIMC to implement the chain marketing program, providing transshipment and logistics services with a customer-centric approach.
Hai Phong Port continues to implement solutions to enhance productivity, quality of loading and unloading, maximize working time in production shift, limit cargo and container shuffling, strengthen monitoring and inspection of loading and unloading technology processes, labor safety. At the same time, the Port continues to innovate, improve the efficiency of management, operation, in the direction of increasing proactive, decentralizing, devolving power to units; modifying, supplementing the system of digitalized, streamlined, and continuously improved processes to provide customers with the best quality services. Continue to effectively deploy Lean and Kaizen in operation and management, cost-effective management. The Port continues to divest from some inefficiently operating businesses.
In addition, Hai Phong Port continues to implement the Prime Minister’s Conclusions on the inspection tour of the implementation of some projects in Hai Phong City; the directions of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of VIMC according to Notification No. 1781/TB-HHVN dated November 1, 2023 and Notification No. 459/TB-HHVN dated November 28, 2023. At the same time, closely following functional agencies in proposing investment in the construction of the next terminals at Hai Phong International Gateway Port, Nam Do Son.
Hai Phong Port accelerates the progress of implementing the investment project of berth 3 and 4 to soon put them into operation, enhance the Port’s competitiveness; strive to complete the construction of 2 bridge-gantry cranes in May 2024 and start operations in February 2025.
In addition, studying the new bidding law (effective from January 1, 2024) to implement the remaining tender packages of the project of berths 3 and 4 to ensure progress. Complete negotiations and sign joint venture cooperation contracts for the operation of the Lach Huyen berth project 3 and 4 in the first quarter of 2024; build and complete a suitable labor arrangement plan.
In addition, Hai Phong Port focuses on accelerating the progress of reporting, working with functional agencies to allow Hai Phong Port to inspect the port bridge, renovate infrastructure and turning basin to Chua Ve Port can receive large-tonnage vessels, ensuring the receipt of non-containerized goods from Hoang Dieu Port when converting functions, and have appropriate compensation and support policies for the relocation of Hoang Dieu Port (in terms of infrastructure, equipment relocation, and policies for workers, initially moving equipment when implementing the construction of May Chai Bridge). Closely monitor functional agencies on the management plan for exploiting assets of bridge number 4, 5, Chua Ve Port.
In terms of investment and finance, Hai Phong Port continues to study and implement cooperation with subsidiaries, member companies, VIMC-contributing enterprises to develop chain services, full-packaging services for customers; plans for joint venture cooperation to operate berths 3 and 4 at Lach Huyen and logistics area at Xuan Cau Industrial Park, Deep C3.
During a visit to the production site at Tan Vu Branch (Hai Phong Port), visiting, encouraging and celebrating Tet with the collective of officers, workers and employees of Hai Phong Port on the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year (February 12, 2024), Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Management Council in enterprises said that in the coming year Hai Phong Port will have more innovations, so each officer, worker and employee of Hai Phong Port will become the core nucleus, make efforts and strive for the development of Hai Phong Port in particular, and VIMC in general.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh expects that in 2024, Hai Phong Port will achieve many good results in business operations, excellently complete assigned tasks; thereby ensuring the position of the number one port in the Northern region, maintaining the tradition and brand of Hai Phong Port – a seaport with a 150-year history.
In 2024, Hai Phong Port strives to achieve basic business targets; in which, cargo throughput reaches 36,520,000 tons; revenue reaches 2,310 billion VND; pre-tax profit reaches 840 billion VND.
