This is the 4th time Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has been to the construction site of the T3 Tan Son Nhat terminal project.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; comrades Central Party Committee Members: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security; leaders of central ministries, sectors and agencies.
The T3 Tan Son Nhat terminal project has a capacity of 20 million passengers per year; including 1 basement floor, 4 above-ground floors, total area of ​​112,000 m2. The project has a total investment capital of nearly 11,000 billion VND, invested, the investor is the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
According to the report of the Ministry of Transport and the investor, the project has completed the work of clearing more than 16ha of land according to the Resolution of the Government on resolving obstacles in transferring defense land for the project.
The consortium of contractors has mobilized over 400 vehicles, machinery, equipment and 1,400 workers to simultaneously implement various tasks at the construction site. The overall progress of the project is basically ensuring the plan, some contents are ahead of schedule. However, there are some items that need to accelerate their progress.
The total value of payments and advances from the beginning of the project until now is over 2,390 billion VND (22%).
After inspecting the site and listening to reports, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is pleased with the results achieved in the work; after about 6 months of groundbreaking for the terminal (August 31, 2023), the project is gradually taking shape, construction is up to the 3rd floor; the procurement contract for equipment has been signed; the connecting road, invested by Ho Chi Minh City, is also basically formed.
Especially, the workers at the construction site are very excited and happy to work throughout Tet, and on many key projects nationwide, in accordance with the government’s guiding spirit of “only focusing on work, not delaying work,” “overcoming all difficulties and challenges,” working in 3 shifts and 4 teams, “taking advantage of every opportunity, sleeping diligently”…
Prime Minister commends Ho Chi Minh City, agencies, efforts, responsibilities in implementing the project, and especially ACV has made a lot of progress.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also mentioned the situation of welcoming Tet, celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Goat, 2023 nationwide was basically good, especially ensuring social security.
The Prime Minister requested the agencies, contractors to concentrate on mobilizing human resources, vehicles, applying modern technologies, ensuring progress, quality, techniques, aesthetics of the T3 Tan Son Nhat terminal project, ensuring labor safety and hygiene, contributing to disbursement of public investment, promoting the growth of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
In particular, the Prime Minister requested more resolutely, more effort, shorten the construction time, strive to complete, put the project into use on time, welcoming the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, the national reunification (April 30, 2025). To do so, the construction schedule must be rebuilt for both construction and procurement, installation of equipment, launching emulation movements and encouraging workers and laborers.
The Prime Minister emphasized the requirement to build airports in a modern direction, promote digital transformation, and provide the most convenient services for tourists. The project should have more artistic features such as more green trees, more flowers… Agencies need to strengthen inspection, supervision, anti-corruption, anti-negative acts, waste.
The Prime Minister proposed that the agencies further study the possibility of continuing to relocate projects in the project area to make the overall airport as well as the project area more beautiful, modern, synchronized, spacious, and more beautiful
The General Director of ACV, Vu The Phiet, pledged to complete the project on time by April 30, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister.
