According to the Ministry of Finance, the quick report from the Price Management Department stated that on the second day of Tet in some large provinces, cities, and supermarkets, stores are expected to reopen, and the supply of essential goods will meet the shopping needs of the people.

Therefore, prices are forecasted to not have any abnormal fluctuations as the demand for New Year shopping will be lower since people have already done their shopping before Tet.

The prices of staple food and basic necessities are stable. However, for some fresh food items such as fish, beef, and vegetables, a slight increase is expected.

Meanwhile, the opening of entertainment venues in major cities is expected to attract a number of visitors for sightseeing and entertainment in the upcoming days.

Therefore, according to the annual rule, the prices of services such as parking, dining, etc., are likely to increase compared to usual days in order to cover the costs for extra work on Tet days.

According to the Ministry of Finance, although the situation is still under control, recommendations have been made for ministries, sectors, and localities to continue monitoring the supply-demand and market prices of products under management.

Particular attention should be paid to the prices of essential products and products with high price fluctuations in the area. Through this, proactive measures can be taken to ensure a balance of goods to meet the consumer needs and maintain market stability.

On the first day of Tet, people nationwide go to religious ceremonies, wishing for stable prices

According to the Price Management Department’s report, on the first day of Tet, most markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers across the country are closed.

However, in some major cities like Ho Chi Minh City, commercial centers such as Aeon Mall and Gigamall still open from 10 AM to 10 PM to serve the people.

The wholesale and retail markets, as well as most small businesses, are closed for Tet. Only a few small-scale traders open their shops, mainly selling vegetables and fruits.

Convenience stores such as Bs’mart, Circle K, FamilyMart, etc., are open 24/7.

In terms of prices, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, since most people go to religious ceremonies and visit relatives, the basic motorcycle parking fees remain the same as usual.

In Hanoi, based on the surveys at Tam Trinh Market (Hoang Mai) and Van Chuong Market (Dong Da), most shops and markets are closed on the first day of Tet because people have already done all their shopping for the year.

In Da Nang, the markets and supermarkets are closed and not operating. People focus on visiting and wishing for New Year’s greetings, going to pagodas, and enjoying recreational activities.

The fees for motorcycle parking at certain points managed by the Market Management Board follow the price regulations of the city government, which is 5,000 VND per vehicle. However, at some private parking spots, the ticket price is 10,000 VND per vehicle.

In traditional markets in Can Tho, the prices of essential goods remain stable from the afternoon of the 30th day of the last lunar month to the morning of the first day of Tet.

However, the prices of Tet gift baskets, beer, and soft drinks have slightly increased by 5,000-10,000 VND, mainly due to the price increase by businesses and grocery stores for tourists.
