On the morning of February 13th, the SJC gold price was listed at buying 77.3 million VND/tael, selling 77.8 million VND/tael, a decrease of about 200,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday. This is a significant decrease of SJC gold in the past few days.
The SJC gold price also fell below the 78 million VND/tael mark after maintaining this level during Tet holiday. The price difference between buying and selling SJC gold is about 500,000 VND/tael.
However, there is a large price difference for SJC gold among businesses due to only a number of gold shops were open for trading during the Tet holiday. Most large gold companies and banks have not resumed trading. The closing price of SJC gold before Tet holiday at banks and large gold companies was 76.7 million VND/tael for buying and 78.9 million VND/tael for selling.
The domestic gold price decreases for both SJC gold and gold rings
Similarly, the price of gold rings and 24K jewelry gold also decreased to 62.75 million VND/tael for buying and 63.15 million VND/tael for selling, a decrease of 150,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday. This is also the first day that the price of gold rings decreased since Tet holiday.
There is also a difference in price of gold rings among businesses. The closing price of gold rings before Tet holiday at large companies was 63.4 million VND/tael for buying and 64.6 million VND/tael for selling.
The domestic gold price goes down following the decline in the world gold price. On the international market, the gold price today decreased sharply to 2,014 USD/ounce, a decrease of nearly ten USD per ounce compared to the previous session.
By 9:30 AM, Vietnam time, the gold price slightly recovered to 2,019 USD/ounce, equivalent to about 59.8 million VND/tael, lower than gold rings by 3.3 million VND/tael and lower than SJC gold by 18 million VND/tael.
