The Ministry of Transport will be the competent authority/agency responsible for three expressway projects, including Dau Giay – Tan Phu, Cho Moi – Bac Kan, Lo Te – Rach Soi.
Among the remaining 16 projects, in addition to construction and upgrading of roads and bridges, the Ministry of Transport also specifically proposes the construction of three information systems, including: the state management information system of the Vietnam Road Administration; the integrated management information system for digital transformation of the Inland Waterways Administration of Vietnam; the common use information system and database of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2025 period; the management information system for aircraft, aircraft operators, and aviation infrastructure.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport also sets other objectives such as: submitting proposals with authority to approve investment policies for high-speed railway projects on the North-South axis; expediting the progress of investment preparation for important national railway lines such as Ho Chi Minh City – Can Tho, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau, Long Thanh – Thu Thiem, Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong. At the same time, the Ministry will support localities in completing documentation to commence 11 highway projects assigned to them as the responsible authorities.
