FPT’s 2024 target is to increase revenue by 17.5% and pre-tax profit by 18.2% compared to the same period. In the technology field, the Group chooses AI, semiconductor, and automotive as its key areas, with the goal of becoming the largest chip design company in Southeast Asia by 2030. It also aims to become a provider of software services and products for the $1 billion automotive industry.
In the working session, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that although there are more than 40,000 digital companies in the country, most of them are small businesses. Therefore, they need large and successful companies like FPT to look up to and have confidence, especially in going abroad.
“FPT is the first company that the working delegation of the MIC visited in the new year, with a message to Vietnamese digital companies about the evaluation and appreciation of the MIC for digital companies. This is a key factor for Vietnam to become a dragon, a tiger in the middle of this century,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed.
According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, the IT industry is proud to have 1,500 Vietnamese companies with revenue from foreign markets, which has reached over $7.5 billion. FPT’s revenue from foreign markets has reached $1 billion, accounting for over 77% of the technology sector’s revenue.
Sharing about digital transformation and the green living trend, the Minister believes that AI (artificial intelligence) will be the steam engine, the energy of the previous industrial revolutions, and 2024 will be the year of AI development and turning AI into a service to supply the market.
“FPT must be the largest AI company in Vietnam, using AI to solve Vietnam’s digital problems and using AI to go global,” emphasized Minister Nguyen Manh Hung.

Regarding the semiconductor industry, 2024 will be the first year Vietnam implements the national strategy in this field. This is a foundational industry and a crucial national industry for the next 30-50 years.
As long as humans continue to develop based on information and data as the input factors of production, semiconductor production is essential. The biggest advantage of the Vietnamese people is their genes, their aptitude for STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), which are basic requirements for semiconductors.
The Minister advised FPT to proactively control the entire process chain in this industry to “dream bigger dreams, do harder things, and leave the easier things to smaller companies.”
