On February 14, news from the Tourism Department of Thua Thien Hue Province stated that during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024, the number of tourists visiting and experiencing Hue has increased compared to the same period last year.

Accordingly, the number of tourists visiting and staying in Hue during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024 from February 7 to February 15 (from December 28th of the Lunar Calendar to the 6th day of the Lunar New Year) reached about 100,000 visitors (an increase of about 17.64% compared to 2023).
The total number of overnight visitors reached about 55,000 people, including over 31,000 international visitors and about 24,000 domestic visitors; the hotel occupancy rate reached 62.4%, with total revenue reaching about 115 billion VND.

Minding that the number of visitors to the heritage system managed by the Hue Monument Conservation Center in the early days of the Year of the Dragon reached about 68,000 visitors (including about 12,000 international visitors).
Many visitors highly appreciated the interactive programs and traditional cultural and artistic experiences to welcome visitors to Hue. In particular, there are many forms of entertainment, services to meet the needs of learning and exploring traditional culture; the New Year activities of the land of Hue have met the demands of tourists and the local community.
According to the report from the Department of Tourism of Lao Cai Province on the situation of tourism activities during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024 (from February 8 to February 14), the number of tourists visiting Lao Cai is estimated at 265,200. Among them, domestic tourists are 256,800 people and international tourists are about 8,400 people. Total tourism revenue reached 900 billion VND, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2023.
Some localities with a large number of tourists during the Lunar New Year include Sa Pa town with about 112,300 visitors, with a total revenue estimated at 387.7 billion VND; Lao Cai City with about 123,600 visitors; Bac Ha district with about 25,000 visitors; Bao Yen district with about 31,500 visitors; and Bat Xat district with about 12,500 visitors.
According to Mr. Lai Vu Hiep – Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Lao Cai Province, before the Lunar New Year, many localities have made thorough preparations to organize cultural and tourism activities, serving the needs of welcoming the Spring of the people and attracting tourists to visit and experience.
Explaining the large number of tourists coming to the province at the beginning of the year, Mr. Lai Vu Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Lao Cai province, shared that the long Lunar New Year holiday is an opportunity for people and tourists to enjoy the Spring, travel with family. With the potential and advantages of Lao Cai, it has attracted a large number of tourists to travel, visit and relax.
In addition, thanks to the forecast of a strong increase in the number of tourists during holidays, especially during the Lunar New Year, localities have proactively implemented practical activities and solutions. As a result, the province attracts a large number of tourists to visit and travel.
On February 14, in an exchange with a reporter from Tien Phong, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that from the 29th to the 5th of the Lunar New Year in 2024, the total number of visitors and tourists in Can Tho City was estimated at about 398,000. Notably, the number of tourists reached about 104,000; among them, there were about 4,100 international tourists, an increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2023; the total tourism revenue is estimated at 415 billion VND, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, the tourism establishments have thoroughly prepared the reception of tourists, ensuring safe and quality operations, arranging dedicated staff to create peace of mind and comfort for tourists during their stay in Can Tho City.
In addition, travel businesses have organized many preferential programs, promotional programs,… for customers who register to buy domestic tours during the holiday; domestic tours attract tourists during the holiday: Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Da Nang – Hoi An – Hue, Hanoi, Northwest, Northeast…
During this period, tourist attractions in the city have also redecorated landscapes, created small scenes to serve visitors during the holidays, organized programs, activities, and events to attract tourists. Along with that, these attractions also focus on environmental hygiene, food safety, security, fire prevention, and pay attention to the spirit and attitude of service.
