On February 14th (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), the number of passengers at Tan Son Nhat Airport continued to increase significantly, setting a new record for the peak service period during the Tet holiday with nearly 148,000 arrivals.

According to the reporter of Tin Tuc newspaper, passengers flocked to Tan Son Nhat airport on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday. Despite the crowded airport, the security situation is stable.

According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, on 14/2 (5th day of Lunar New Year), there were 934 flights with nearly 148,000 passengers. Domestic passengers accounted for over 100,000 (including 66,000 arrivals and over 34,000 departures), and international passengers accounted for 47,000. Compared to the previous day (13/2), the number of passengers on the 5th day of Lunar New Year increased by over 12,000.

Therefore, the number of passengers through Tan Son Nhat airport on the 5th day of Lunar New Year exceeded the forecast for the number of flights and passengers, establishing a new peak since the peak serving the Lunar New Year.

Due to the high number of passengers, shuttle services at Tan Son Nhat airport are operating continuously to pick up and drop off passengers.

It is known that during the peak period of the Lunar New Year holiday, Tan Son Nhat airport has about 860 – 900 daily flights, with an average of about 135,000 – 140,000 passengers. The highest number of passengers through Tan Son Nhat airport was on 7/2 (28th day of Lunar New Year) with 134,000 passengers and on 13/2 (4th day of Lunar New Year) with 136,000 passengers.
