According to the Department of Tourism, this year’s Lunar New Year holiday saw a high increase in foreign tourists, especially luxury cruise ship tourists from Europe, the United States, Australia, and Japan. Tourists tend to travel in small groups, with family or friends.
Luxury resort tours and free & easy tours (including flight tickets and luxury hotels) were popular choices among customers in 2024.
As for domestic tourists, despite the high increase in airfares, the number of registrations and travel plans to foreign countries remains stable. Traditional destinations such as Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States continue to be popular choices.
Domestic tourists prioritized destinations such as Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Da Nang, and provinces in the Northwest region.
To meet the needs of passengers, travel companies also launched many new and attractive tourism products, such as: Spring in Thu Duc, Lunar New Year on Binh Dong Wharf, Celebrating Tet with famous people, Picking luck at the beginning of the year, District 1 – colorful nights, exploring the Saigon River by double-decker river bus…
In addition, the security, public order, and safety for tourists are maintained and ensured. Fire prevention and firefighting work at establishments are well-maintained. In the early days of the year, there were no reports of service quality issues or safety incidents. Food safety and hygiene are also guaranteed.
