XL01 contract package of Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong component project is responsible for the construction of Tuy An tunnel, which is part of the project’s progress. On the morning of February 15th (the 6th day of Lunar New Year), all construction sites inside and outside the tunnel resumed normal operation. On the construction site, contractors mobilized nearly 800 engineers, workers, and 327 machines and equipment. Everyone is working in an enthusiastic atmosphere at the beginning of the year and determined to complete the set milestones.
Engineer Nguyen Van Hai, Director of XL01 contract package of Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong component project, said that the first working day of the year, the entire team of engineers and workers was very excited. Everyone has deployed construction at 45 points along the route. Tuy An road tunnel is a project’s progress tunnel, so it is always emphasized to implement both progress and quality. Currently, both tunnel tubes have been excavated about 200 meters, reaching the set progress.
Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong component project highway passes through Phu Yen province, which is one of the 12 component projects of the East Inter-Regional North-South Expressway Phase II (2021-2025). The project has a length of over 48 km, passing through 5 districts, towns, and cities of Phu Yen province, represented by Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Transport) as the investor. After one year of implementation, the overall volume has reached about 28%, ensuring the set progress.
Starting from the first working day after the Giap Thin Tet holiday, there were more than 1,200 workers and over 1,000 vehicles working on the construction site. Contractors focus on constructing mountain tunnels, bridges, culverts, underground passages, etc.
According to Mr. Ho Xuan Thang, Director of Chí Thạnh – Vân Phong component project, after Tet, the construction units have proactively accelerated the construction progress according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport. The investor also requested the consulting and supervising units to closely monitor the construction process to ensure quality. 2024 is an important period that decides the project’s completion schedule, so all tasks must be carried out synchronously and resolutely. Construction units have concentrated on completing more than 17 km of weak soil, and the remaining 31 km must be completed this year. In some early construction contracts and ensuring technical requirements, at least 10 km will be paved with asphalt this year. Especially, large-scale tunnel and bridge works will be basically completed to make breakthroughs.
To support the investors and construction units in completing the North-South component highway projects, immediately after the Giap Thin Tet holiday, Phu Yen province will hand over 6% of the remaining land area. The local government will coordinate with functional units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to speed up the relocation of high-voltage and low-voltage power systems. For resettlement areas, technical infrastructure and land procedures will also be ensured to timely deliver land to households according to regulations.
