According to Directive 06/CT-TTg on promoting the implementation of key tasks after the Lunar New Year holiday in the Year of the Rat 2024, the Prime Minister requested relevant ministries, agencies, localities, organizations, and individuals to focus immediately on handling their tasks, without delay, to ensure that production, business activities, and socio-economic activities are not affected, especially for tasks that were postponed due to the holiday.
In terms of the Ministry of Public Security, the Prime Minister suggested studying proposals to expand visa waivers for citizens of certain countries that are suitable for the new situation and bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for urgently summarizing and evaluating the application of unilateral visa exemption policies for citizens of 13 countries in recent times, proactively coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to propose expanding the number of countries whose citizens are unilaterally exempted from visas to Vietnam.
Until now, Vietnam has exempted visas for citizens of 25 countries, including 13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas, namely: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus.
It is worth noting that after the traditional Tet holiday, many cultural activities will take place in localities. The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead in coordinating with relevant agencies and localities, actively directing the organization of cultural and artistic activities, traditional and folk festivals, ensuring safety, civilization, and promoting the cultural identity of the nation;
The Prime Minister demanded timely inspection and strict handling of violations in accordance with the directions of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 10/CĐ-TTg dated January 29, 2024, especially violations regarding payment and management of labor wages and burning of paper offerings; enhancing destination management, guiding tourism service establishments to implement measures to ensure the safety of tourists and local people; disseminating information and encouraging tourists to strictly follow the “Don’t drink and drive” policy at accommodation and catering establishments.
In order to meet the travel needs of the people, the Prime Minister suggested that the Ministry of Transport improve the quality of passenger transport services, minimize delays and cancellations in air transport, and absolutely not leave passengers without means to return to work or study.
