Vietnam Railway Corporation has announced that a passenger left behind a Vertu phone and a wallet on the SE20 train departing from Da Nang station on February 18th. When the train passed Thanh Hoa station, the train captain received a notification from the Thanh Hoa station office that a passenger with bed tickets number 13, 14, 15, 16 in car number 8 had forgotten a men’s leather wallet .
Immediately after receiving the information, the train captain and the security guard checked and found a men’s wallet with dimensions of about 15x25x4cm under the table. Inside the wallet, there was a used Vertu phone, 40 notes of 500,000 VND, and several smaller denomination notes. The wallet also contained an ID card, 2 identity cards with the name V.D.N., a phone card, an appliance card, a football card, a medical examination card, and a health insurance card with the name N.
The train captain prepared an incident report and handed it over to the Nam Dinh station to be returned to the passenger at the Thanh Hoa station.
Earlier on February 18th, a female passenger also left behind money and personal papers when getting off at Bien Hoa station, and they were later returned by train staff.
By searching for passenger information through the electronic ticket system, the captain of the SE3 Hanoi – Saigon train was able to contact the passenger who had left the belongings. Ms. Th. requested that the property be transferred to the BiĂªn HĂ²a station for collection.
When the SE3 train arrived at Saigon station, the train captain sent the forgotten property of the passenger to the SPT2 train crew departing from Saigon station. When the SPT2 train arrived at the Bien Hoa station, the train crew returned the entire property to the female passenger. Ms. Th. expressed her gratitude to the railway staff for their dedication to passengers, and she felt very lucky to travel by train during the Lunar New Year holiday.
