According to Box Office Vietnam, the revenue of “Đào, phở và piano” as of February 20th is over 505 million VND. Only on February 20th, the movie earned over 166 million VND, selling 3,322 tickets with 16 screenings.
With this figure, the film “Đào, phở và piano” is currently the third highest-grossing Vietnamese film. It is only behind “Mai” by Trấn Thành and “Gặp lại chị bầu” by the couple Anh Tú – Diệu Nhi.
Creating a buzz on social media, but “Đào, phở và piano” only earned 500 million VND in revenue.
In the past few days, the film “Đào, phở và piano” has unexpectedly made a splash, causing the National Cinema Center to continuously increase screenings. It used to have only 3 screenings per day, with about 100 audience members per theater, but now the movie has been increased to 16 screenings.
To serve the audience, the National Cinema Center announced that there will be a change in the screening schedule by reducing 50% of the number of screenings for “Mai” to shift to “Đào, phở và piano.”
Currently, the National Cinema Center is the only theater showing “Đào, phở và piano” with the spirit of serving the audience and dedicating to the film industry. All revenue must be 100% submitted to the state budget. In the future, there will be other theaters expected to show “Đào, phở và piano” such as those under Cinestar and Beta Media.
“Đào, phở và piano” is a film directed by Phi Tiến Sơn, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Film Department, and produced by I Film Production Joint Stock Company. The film was invested with a budget of up to 20 billion VND.
The film is a high-quality work, conveying many historical significances, spreading good values, not only depicting the harsh nature of the historical battle but also delving into the understanding and interpretation of the character, quality, and love for the beauty of Hanoi people, honoring the love for beauty, refined passions, elegant demeanor, and love for the country.
“Đào, phở và piano” won the Silver Lotus Award at the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival held in Da Lat in November 2023.
