The Chinese car company has implemented a special policy to ensure that customers are not inconvenienced by long repair times.

The basic task of a car is to help users move everywhere, as a tool to serve work and daily life. When taking the car for repair, users will be annoyed because they not only lose money for repairing the car but also spend money on taxis or public transportation. It is even worse when they do not have clear information about when the car will be fixed.

Therefore, to reassure customers, in the Malaysian market, Chinese brand Chery has committed to providing customers with loan cars if the repair time lasts more than 2 days.

Normally, brands do not have fixed policies for this, but rely on the actual situation and the availability of replacement cars.

In theory, dealers are not obligated to provide cars for customers to use temporarily during the car repair period, and if they are lucky to have a car, customers will certainly not be able to choose the same car model as their own car.

That is why the latest move of the Chinese brand is quite bold. Accordingly, Chery Malaysia commits to providing customers with loan cars if the repair time lasts more than 48 hours or 2 days. Mr. Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice Chairman of Chery Malaysia, confirmed this. He said that this is an official commitment from the company, everything is guaranteed in black and white, not depending on the situation.

Named “Keeps you Moving,” the goal of this policy is to ensure that customers always have a car to use, without interrupting their daily commute. Customers will be provided with temporary cars of the same type as the car they are repairing, not lower-end models.

In Malaysia, most customers are using the Omoda 5 model. The Omoda 5 belongs to the B-segment SUV segment, with prices ranging from about 567 million to 619 million VND in Malaysia.

However, Chery Malaysia has not yet announced the official implementation schedule for this program.

Previously, Mr. Tocy Tang, Director of Chery Vietnam, revealed that this car model will also be launched in the Vietnamese market with the name Omoda C5. The car is imported completely from Indonesia. In the future, the company will build a factory and move towards assembly in Vietnam.

In late January 2024, the Omoda brand held a test drive event for the C5 model. The B-segment SUV introduced in Vietnam has 2 versions, Deluxe and Luxury. The car is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, maximum power of 154 horsepower, maximum torque of 230 Nm, combined with a 9-speed simulated CVT transmission.

When launched, the car will have to face fierce competition from rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Peugeot 2008, and Toyota Corolla Cross. This is a segment with great attraction in our country, as the sales of 2-3 models have already entered the top 10 best-selling cars each month. If the same policy is applied as in Malaysia, this will be an attractive point for Vietnamese customers.
