Businesses selling fruits have launched numerous trays of fruits, with prices ranging from 300,000 to 1.5 million VND/tray. In some places, the price can reach 2-3 million VND, even nearly 5 million VND.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thanh, owner of a fruit store in Nam Trung Yen (Cau Giay, Hanoi), the price of Ram fruit trays depends on the types of fruits and fresh flowers used. If the tray consists of many high-end imported fruits combined with fresh flowers, then the price will be much higher than that of trays using domestic fruits.
For example, a tray may consist of 1 pear, 2 dragon fruits with red flesh, 2 imported apples, betel leaves, areca nut, 3 Avalokiteshvara lotus flowers and daisies with a price of only 300,000 VND. Meanwhile, a tray may consist of 1 artistically carved watermelon, 3 green bananas, 1 Buddha’s hand fruit, 7 oranges, 3 apples, 1 bunch of grapes combined with 5 lotus flowers, pomelo blossoms, or orchids… with a price of nearly 5 million VND.

Ms. Thanh also said that, compared to last year, the number of orders for fruit trays during the first full moon of the lunar year has not increased. However, during this time, she still has to work from early morning until late at night to fulfill the orders.
She revealed that customers often choose fruit trays priced at around 500,000 – 1 million VND. Trays priced below 1 million VND are relatively quick to make due to the small number of fruits. With trays priced at a few million VND, it takes time to arrange the fruits in the tray and attach the flowers. Moreover, they have to be arranged in a way that matches well in terms of color coordination, and they must not shift during transportation. To ensure they stay in place, Ms. Thanh often uses special glue.
“In just a few more days until the first full moon of the lunar year, I still have to make about 60 fruit trays to fulfill the orders,” she shared.
Ms. Thanh Tu, owner of a clean fruit chain in Hanoi, said that the prices of fruit trays for the first full moon of the lunar year are almost the same as during Tet. The cheapest tray costs 600,000 VND, while the most expensive one costs 2-3 million VND.

Some fruit vendors said that the prices of fruits and flowers for the first full moon of the lunar year have not increased compared to last year, but the number of customers ordering fruit trays has slightly decreased. As a result, there is almost no backlog of orders and no need to reject customers as before.
