On February 22, Toyota dealerships officially announced that they are now accepting pre-orders for the 2024 Corolla Cross in Vietnam, offering two versions: V and Hybrid. The G version will be discontinued. The delivery of the vehicles is expected to take place in May. The prices have not been disclosed yet.
The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross is a mid-life facelift version with some aesthetic and equipment changes. The redesigned front end can be recognized by its new LED headlights called Crystalized, with sequential turn signals similar to those found in Lexus models. The Multi-Dimensional front grille, in the body color, has a half-covered, half-open design that is reminiscent of the Lexus RX. The front bumper has also been modified and now includes two air intake openings on each side.
The wheel size remains at 18 inches, but the new design features a two-tone scrape effect. HEV logos have been added on both sides and on the rear of the car. The LED taillights have also been updated, giving them a more attractive look.
The interior is more spacious and features a panoramic glass roof, with an electric sunshade that can be opened or closed. The Black-Red color scheme adds a stylish touch. The dashboard now includes a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and an enlarged 10.1-inch center touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The car has electronic parking brake and automatic hold function, which many people have been looking forward to.
Other minor changes include the addition of a 15W wireless charger, the transformation of some USB ports in the front and back seats into Type-C ports, the conversion of the interior lights to LED bulbs, and the installation of illuminated power window switches for the driver.
In terms of safety features, the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross adds an automatic parking brake function, upgrades the panoramic camera system (with transparent mode and improved night vision), upgrades the intelligent cruise control system (operating at all speeds), and adds new sensors (4 front sensors and 4 rear sensors).
The car has also been improved in terms of weight reduction, with a lighter steering wheel, enhanced suspension system, and electrification system. The 18-inch alloy wheels are lighter compared to the previous generation.
If it is similar to the Thai market, the V version sold in Vietnam will be equipped with a 1.8L gasoline engine, delivering 140 horsepower and 177 Nm of torque, coupled with a Super CVT-i automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the Hybrid version combines a 1.8L gasoline engine (98 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque) with an electric motor (72 horsepower and 163 Nm of torque). The total system output is 122 horsepower. The E-CVT automatic transmission is used in both versions. Both versions are equipped with a front-wheel drive system.
