During the 2024 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, residents of Nha Be District enjoyed a warm and prosperous Tet with many meaningful activities that preserve and honor the cultural values of the nation and meet the demands for entertainment, recreation, and shopping throughout the holiday season.
Most of the activities took place at the Nha Be District Administration Center, which spans over 10,000 square meters. Since its opening in June 2022, the park has annually organized programs for the 2023 and 2024 Lunar New Year celebrations, providing the residents of Nha Be with a wholesome and joyful cultural playground.

Furthermore, the district organized a competition for creating Tet-themed miniature landscapes in 2024, with the theme “A Corner of Tet with Affection, Prosperous Spring, Progressive Tet” to stimulate participation and competition in welcoming the traditional Lunar New Year among the local communities. Alongside, miniature landscapes with the theme “Nha Be Convergence and Development” recreate a peaceful picture of “Nha Be in the past and present.” The combination of historical elements and urban development towards “civilization, modernity, and affection” is presented through these miniature landscapes, providing a unique beauty to Nha Be. The products of the Tet miniature landscape decoration competition create a joyful and excited atmosphere for the residents, wishing for a peaceful, prosperous, and happy new year.

The first year celebrating Tet in Nha Be pleasantly surprised Mr. Thanh and Mrs. Hai (residents of Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3, Phuoc Kien Commune) as it was “more enjoyable than expected.” They shared that the Spring Flower Festival offered a range of activities from morning to evening, making it unnecessary for them to ponder on where to take their children for entertainment. These activities helped their children gain a better understanding of the beautiful traditions of the old Tet celebrated by their ancestors.
Nha Be possesses many natural conditions that meet the living standards akin to a resort. With its abundant rivers and waterways (including the Saigon, Dong Nai, Nha Be, Long Tau, and Soai Rap rivers), the area still retains many natural green spaces and spacious environments, with low pollution compared to central areas. Nha Be is destined to become an ecological tourism destination in Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, this locality is gradually becoming an ideal place to live with a healthy living environment, attracting a growing number of residents to settle mainly in residential areas and apartment complexes. The investment in spiritual and cultural activities like the ones mentioned above contributes to enriching the spiritual life, bringing satisfaction and pride to the local residents.
The most impressive aspect of the 2024 Spring Flower Festival was the “Preserving the Soul of Vietnamese Tet” ao dai performance and the children’s club – team – group arts festival, which also took place at the district administration center park. These events were jointly organized by the District Women’s Union, the Cultural – Sports and Communication Center, the District Youth Union, and the District Children’s Cultural House. The event featured a diverse range of performances, including ao dai fashion shows, singing, and modern dancing set to music that praised the beauty of spring and the beauty of the homeland.

The ao dai performance was also part of the 10th Ao Dai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, creating a healthy, joyful, and beneficial cultural playground while meeting the entertainment needs of the people and promoting the cultural traditions of the nation during the Tet holidays.
With the resounding success of the 2024 Spring Flower Festival, Nha Be District will continue to preserve and promote cultural values during each Tet season, enhancing the spiritual life of the residents and ensuring that they can enjoy lively, prosperous, and abundant Tet holidays. These activities not only meet the demand for wholesome entertainment and recreation but also create a distinct and unique cultural identity for the future of Nha Be.
