The People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province has recently approved the plan to convert the function of the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into a residential-commercial-service area and improve the environment.
The goal of the plan is to develop a new, modern, and sustainable residential-commercial-service area, creating a distinctive landscape for the specific region and Bien Hoa City in general; improving the environment, limiting water pollution of the Dong Nai River system.
Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was established in 1963 under the name of Bien Hoa Technical Zone. After 1975, Bien Hoa Technical Zone was renamed Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park.
In May 2020, the Prime Minister issued a decision on the approval of the project to renovate and upgrade the technical infrastructure of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, which stipulates that Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park will be organized and operated under the regulations for industrial parks, export processing zones, and high-tech zones.
In late January 2021, the Prime Minister approved to remove Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park from the development plan of Vietnam’s industrial parks.
According to the provincial People’s Committee, the roadmap for relocating businesses to implement the plan to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into the Bien Hoa 1 residential-commercial-service area will be completed before December 2025. According to a report from Sonadezi Corporation, the compensation cost for land clearance when implementing the plan is over 7.5 trillion VND.
