Breakthrough right from the beginning of the New Spring
Unlike previous years where workers in industrial parks and clusters in the province did not return to work until the end of the first full moon of the Lunar New Year, this year, right from the first few days of the New Spring, nearly 100% of workers in these areas in Phu Tho province have come back to work with high spirits and determination. The phenomenon of job quitting or “job hopping” is not as common as in previous years.
Ms. Nguyen Viet Phuong, who is from Duu Lau ward, Viet Tri city, is currently the line leader at Innovation Future Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Phu Ha Industrial Park, Phu Tho town, excitedly shared that even though the atmosphere of the traditional Tet holiday still lingers, all employees in the company have proactively arranged and scheduled their family affairs in order to return to work in the first few days of the new year with the utmost effort.

Innovation Future Vietnam Co., Ltd. is one of the major electronics manufacturers specializing in completely wireless headphones, wireless Bluetooth headphones, and headphone components, with 100% of the investment capital from Hong Kong (China). Established in 2020, up until now, Innovation Future Vietnam has three factories in Phu Ha Industrial Park and is currently undergoing expansion plans, including the construction of the fourth factory in the same industrial park. With a total investment capital of up to 36.5 million USD to date, the designed capacity of the three factories currently stands at 800 tons per year, equivalent to 4,850,496 products per year. Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, the company strives to secure enough orders and fully implement salary and bonus regimes, creating happiness and excitement for the new year.
At Vietnam Sunergy Cell Co., Ltd. in Cam Khe Industrial Park, on the first day back to work after Tet, all 680 workers were present at the company, quickly and energetically diving into production shifts. Mr. Li HuaYang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Sunergy Cell Co., Ltd., revealed that the company will continue to invest in Phase 2, aiming to complete testing, calibration, and officially commence full-scale operations by July 2024, raising the factory’s capacity to 3 GW per year, equivalent to 463,104,000 products per year (solar cell panels). Alongside production expansion, the company plans to recruit an additional 690 Vietnamese workers and 110 foreign workers to work at the company.
According to the Management Board of Phu Tho Industrial Parks, up until now, 100% of businesses in the industrial parks have been operating steadily, executing competitive production plans on a monthly and quarterly basis in 2024. Many enterprises have secured orders for the entire year, promising a year full of prospects for industrial development and provincial restructuring.
Regaining growth momentum
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Phu Tho province, currently, there are more than 11,600 businesses throughout the province. In 2023 alone, the province had 988 newly registered businesses with a total registered capital of 20,341.1 billion VND, a 2.5% increase in the number of businesses and a 62.1% increase in registered capital compared to the same period last year. Thanks to the resolute and flexible guidance and administration of the province, along with many solutions to overcome difficulties for businesses, industrial production in the province maintained a considerable growth rate in 2023. The internal structure of the sector has shifted positively towards increasing the proportion of processing and electronic manufacturing industries.
However, industrial production throughout the province still faces many challenges, with many traditional goods, key products lacking orders, declining market demand, and increasing prices of input materials. By the end of 2023, 12 out of 18 processing and manufacturing industries saw a decrease compared to the same period, including a 11.2% decrease in the food processing industry, an 18% decrease in the textile industry, a 14% decrease in the clothing industry, a 17% decrease in the leather and related products industry, a 6% decrease in the wood processing and wooden product manufacturing industry, a 5% decrease in the rubber and plastic product manufacturing industry, a 4% decrease in the non-metallic mineral product manufacturing industry, and a 2% decrease in the paper and paper product manufacturing industry…
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Phu Tho province, in order to promote industrial production growth and promptly “catch the wave” of new contracts and investments, businesses are accelerating their breakthroughs right from the beginning of the new spring. Many companies have set targets to complete their production volume ahead of schedule. The highest goal is to enhance product quality, ensure on-time delivery according to contracts, and continue investing in production expansion. In addition to salary payment and implementation of regulations and policies, attention to the workers’ lives is also emphasized by businesses, which have other support policies regarding housing, meals, and investment in improving the working environment to ensure employee peace of mind.
According to Mr. Phan Trong Tan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province, in order to achieve the highest possible targets and tasks for economic and social development in 2024, the province is currently focusing on coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive support package, resolving difficulties and obstacles, and promoting production and business operations. In the field of industrial production, the province will strengthen its grasp of the business operation situation, support businesses in accessing credit capital, markets, investment procedures, and land; implement synchronized and efficient credit support policies, exemptions, taxes, and fees; provide specific solutions to support businesses and industries facing production and export difficulties, such as food processing, textiles, clothing, leather, ceramics, rubber, and plastic products; enhance management and prevent trade protection and origin fraud measures; ensure the handover of land for projects; actively monitor approved investment projects, require investors and project owners to implement in accordance with the agreed schedule; complete investment procedures, land delivery for new investment and expansion projects of 32 projects; expedite the progress of 35 projects for early completion and operation; strive for an industrial growth rate of 10% or more.
