The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has recently submitted a report to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha regarding the assignment of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee as the competent authority to implement the upgrading project of Bien Hoa Airport into a dual-use 4E-grade civil-military airport.

According to the MoT, in November 2022, the Government issued Resolution No. 154/NQ-CP, approving the action program of the Government to implement Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee. The Government assigned Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee as the lead agency responsible for implementing the project to upgrade Bien Hoa Airport into a dual-use civil-military airport of 4E grade.
At the end of October 2023, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee sent a document to the MoT requesting consideration and approval for the province to provide financial support through the product of the detailed planning dossier for Bien Hoa Airport. The MoT subsequently issued a supportive document for this proposal.
According to the MoT, the assignment of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee as the competent state agency to implement the investment project of Bien Hoa Airport is in line with the general direction of the Government.
