New Information About Traffic Adjustments on Cam Lo – La Son Highway

The Vietnam Road Administration has requested that all units modify the solid line road markings into dashed lines, in order to provide vehicles with the ability to overtake and avoid when conditions permit. The Vietnam Road Administration announced that they have implemented the instructions of the Minister of Transport on measures to overcome shortcomings and ensure traffic safety on the Cam Lo – La Son expressway and other 2-lane expressways. The unit held an urgent meeting with relevant agencies to organize and ensure traffic on the route.

Currently, vehicles are only allowed to overtake on sections with 4 lanes (9 sections with 4 lanes, each section about 1.5 km long). To ensure safety for road users, the Vietnam Road Administration requires a review of straight road sections with favorable visibility conditions to adjust the solid line markings to dashed line markings, creating conditions for vehicles to avoid and overtake when conditions permit.

On curved and inclined sections within the area, sections without guaranteed traffic safety and restricted visibility will maintain the solid line markings.

The section of Cam Lo – La Son starting from the northern provincial road 579 junction in Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province, the Vietnam Road Administration requires units to review the junctions to adjust and supplement road signs, road markings, and other traffic safety items to ensure the best driver guidance.

For the transitioning section from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and vice versa, units need to supplement direction standards, reflective nails, road signs, review and adjust the positions, contents of the signs, and other traffic safety items, review positions at risk of traffic safety loss to adjust the exploitation speed lower than the design and suitable for reality.

In addition, the Road Management Zone II is currently reviewing the entire infrastructure of the project to adjust and supplement to enhance the work of ensuring traffic order and safety.

The Vietnam Road Administration proposes that the Traffic Police Command and relevant functional forces strengthen inspection and handling of violations of traffic order and safety on the Cam Lo – La Son and La Son – Hoa Lien routes.
