According to the Ministry of Construction, 1,249 land plots with a scale of 8,390 hectares have been planned in the whole country for social housing, so compared to the report in 2020 (3,359 hectares), the area of land for social housing development has increased by an additional 5,031 hectares.
Some localities that are concerned with the planning of social housing land reserves include: Dong Nai with 1,063 hectares, Ho Chi Minh City with 608 hectares, Long An with 577 hectares, Hai Phong with 471 hectares, and Hanoi with 412 hectares.
However, there are still some localities that have not planned and arranged social housing land reserves, such as Ninh Binh, Lai Chau, Nghe An, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap.
Regarding the results of implementing social housing projects from 2021 to the end of 2023, currently there have been 71 completed projects with a scale of 37,868 units; 127 projects with a scale of 107,896 units have started construction. First, there are still many localities that have implemented slowly compared to the registered plan in the Project, including some localities that have not started any new social housing projects yet.
Second, the disbursement of the preferential credit package of VND 120,000 billion is still slow compared to the desire and actual demand of enterprises investing in social housing, housing for workers.
