Therefore, the People’s Committee needs to have an official proposal about this matter.
The Ngoc Hoa complex has been approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee for a detailed plan at a scale of 1/500. The railway premises have a total area of about 171 hectares, serving as the hub of the North-South railway and the hub of the urban railway in Hanoi.
According to the railway network plan for the period 2021-2030 and the vision until 2050, approved by the Prime Minister, the national railway will not enter the center of Hanoi city; the Ngoc Hoa – Yen Vien and Gia Lam – Lac Dao sections will be converted into urban railway lines when the Eastern Ring Road is put into operation.
With the Ngoc Hoa railway complex being the starting point of high-speed railway lines and the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City national railway, it has a full range of functions including railway station systems, high-speed railways, urban railways, and depot areas for urban railways.
