In recent days, many iPhone users in Vietnam have reported experiencing signal loss, SIM card recognition issues, and battery charging problems after updating to iOS 17.3.1.
In various technology forums on social media, many users have complained about their iPhones encountering issues after updating to iOS 17.3.1, specifically the iPhone 12, 13, and 14 generations.
“My iPhone 12 Pro Max suddenly shuts down. The phone is still original and hasn’t been repaired, but some components appear to have been changed. It works normally after a reset,” one user reported.
“I thought my charger was broken, so I went to buy a new one,” another account commented.
The reported issues include mobile signal loss, SIM card unrecognition (both physical SIM and eSIM), complete IMEI information loss, inability to charge, automatic disconnection of WiFi and Bluetooth connections… These issues are not limited to Vietnam, as users in many places around the world have encountered similar problems.
The exact cause of these issues has yet to be determined. However, some experts believe that the issues may be due to certain changes in iOS 17.3.1 that are incompatible with certain iPhone devices.
Apple has not commented on this situation. However, on the support page, an administrator has advised users not to upgrade to the new version to avoid potential issues and to wait for a new release.
If the update has already been performed and issues are encountered, users are recommended to restore to a previously backed-up version as a temporary solution.
Released two weeks ago, iOS 17.3.1 is the latest version of iOS 17. This update “fixes an issue that could cause unexpected duplicated or overlapping text while typing.” Additionally, it also improves the performance of iPhones and fixes some minor bugs.
However, with the recent reports of new issues, waiting for a new bug fix release may be a wise decision to avoid unexpected risks.
